Prologue
Dear Diary,
Welcome back to yet another entry to my life as a high school girl, first, let me introduce myself.
My name is my name is Kathrin Collin and I’m a 15 year old Italian/French teenage girl living with my uncle, Galileo, and his husband Benjamin, after my parents took my sister and brothers back to their home town unintentionally thinking that my sister is the one who could shift like my brother Ethan and dad, which didn’t sit well with my dad’s parents when they heard his reasons of leaving me behind
My dad, Gabriel, married a magazine CEO’s executive assistant, Sofia, at the age of 23 and got married 5 years later giving birth to my brothers after settling into the Black Shades pack and got both my sister, Caroline, and I 6 years later
Ethan and Aiden are happily married and living with their own sons and daughters in their own homes with their mates Patricia and Heidi, whereas my sister and I are still in school as we are 7 years younger than our brothers and still living with our parents.
The difference between each half of our family is that my dad, Ethan and I are werewolves just like those we live with, the Black Shades and Lycanthrope packs, but unfortunately for my spoiled older twin sister, Caroline, and my brother, Aiden, who accepts the idea of him being human like my mom have not and did not experience most of what we do growing up or when we know our mate because Aiden had to get to know her before he married her and let her mark him as hers even though he had feelings for her, he just doesn’t want to speed things up and get to know her as who she is and not just for her beauty which is something she loves about him, dad and I respect about him, and my sister finding it argumentative every time he visits, whereas my mom… all she wanted from him were grandchildren and she got a few from both twins leaving us girls to follow in their footsteps once we find the right one like they did
I’ve got only one downfall about my family and I, they live in my birth pack, Black Shades pack, but since I lived most of my life with my grandparents in my dad’s side of the family, I was put with them in my uncle’s husband’s pack, Lycanthrope pack, so here I am living with my uncles in their house and in my own room
I woke up to the familiar ringtone of my alarm coming from my phone reminding me that I’ve got a meeting with an alpha that went rouge in a few hours and turned around turning the alarm off so I could get off of the bed making it just to not make anyone in the pack feel obligated to do anything in my room and walked to the restroom that’s connected to the bedroom so I could do my usual routine then headed back out to get dressed in white lace up, cup sleeved crop top, black tribal wide legs pair of stretch pants and brown comfortable sandals putting on a black and white elephant patterned bandana to style my hair letting it loose with a few stands on either side of my head then put wire and gem dream catcher earrings just to complete the look and looked at myself in the mirror judging my attire to see if I’ll be presentable enough to show myself in front of everyone
Nodding in approval, I walked downstairs to have breakfast with the rest of my pack who chose to eat in the mansion before I need to get my handbag ready and head out of the pack so I could go to a gym the Alpha works in as a trainer to the members who wanted one to guide them through what they do and use in the gym
“Excuse me” I started standing in front of the gym’s front desk assistant “Is there someone by the name of Hayes Anderson here by any chance?” I asked with a smile and she looked up at me returning the smile with her own “Yes, he’s actually here today” she nodded “Thank you” I thanked her before walking in the equipment room looking around till I saw the familiar figure of the man I came here for talking to someone but stopped looking around till our eyes met and he pulled the man with him as he walked towards me
“Miss Collins” the Alpha greeted me in acknowledgment “Mr. Anderson” I greeted him back “Let’s drive and talk, shall we?” I suggested and he nodded giving the man he brought with him a kiss to the cheek before following me out of the building to get in the passenger’s seat while I got in the driver’s so I could pick his Beta and Gamma from their work
The Alpha told me that he already sent a link to his friends of our whereabouts, so I just took us both to a werewolf friendly diner that my grandparents and glared at all the rogue who looked at us making them turn back around to focus on what they were doing and who they were with leaving me guide the Alpha to a table I like to sit on close to a window showing the area we’re in
I’ve got acquainted with the Alpha and his two closest friends who came a few minutes ago and I think now is the time to discuss what I already told the Alpha “Do you agree on the terms I delivered to you Mr. Anderson?” I asked the man sitting opposite me and his Gamma making the second and third look between us in confusion “What terms?” the Beta asked “Your living with us” I informed him simply which made the Gamma choke on his drink and fist bumping his chest
“What? What do you mean us?” the Beta asks “Hayes, what is she talking about?” he asks his friend “She’s giving us a second chance home, that’s what she’s talking about” the Alpha informed him sending me a playful glare “You’re a slowpoke, not my problem” I shrugged looking at the two
“Is that even a thing anymore?” the Gamma asked after I gave him my bottle of water to drown out the clog “Unless you want to be frowned upon, no, but if you want to have a place you can protect yourself for when you reject the offer… you don’t really have a say in it if your friend here already signed my uncle’s papers” I informed him gesturing towards Hayes who looked at me with a frown “I’m blunt, sew me” I argued making him chuckle
I looked at the two waiting for any sort of reaction but what I didn’t expect was for the Beta, the second in command to do the most bizarre and unthinkable action for someone I thought is the serious one out of the two lower ranks than the Alpha
“Fuck yes” Phil yelled fist bumping the air and the Gamma literally had to slap and rub his face with his hand at what his friend just done and I looked at Hayes who rolled his eyes at his friend but smiled nonetheless “I’m not going to ask” I grumbled and Mr. Anderson smirked ruffling his friend’s head
Looking at the rundown, abandoned house that Hayes told me he lives in with his friends “What the fuck?” I asked looking at Hayes’ supposedly ‘Home’ in confusion and heard the three men chuckle “It might not be presentable but it’s home” Gamma Jordan told me making me look at him like he’s playing games with me right now to see him raise an eyebrow at me “Pack up” was all I could utter looking back at the house
“Excuse me?” Hayes asked “You heard me or do you want me to take you to my pack without your things?” I asked looking at the man who looked at me utterly speechless not expecting me to actually accept him and allow him to set foot in my territory
“You’ve got less than two and a half hours to pack up or I’m dragging you out of that bloody Mary house and into the pack territory” I warned the men to see the second and third dashing inside the nightmare of a home with the Alpha right behind them
Driving into my pack’s territory with the new recruits and pack members seems make me feel at ease now that the pack can practice once again and get stronger instead of depending on the Beta, Gamma, and Alpha to train them on daily basis before and after work and having someone to take over if my mate turns out to be someone outside the pack and in another one
“This is place is awesome” the Beta exclaimed looking at all the work the pack and I had to do just to keep everyone safe, comfortable, and at ease in house and I turned around to look at the man who was supposed to be a father of 6 not sure what to call him or say to his reaction to the place
“I see you’ve met my niece” I heard Uncle Benjamin note as he came walking towards us with his two friends and I turned around to walk towards my uncle giving him a peck on the cheek before walking off to do what I need to for school greeting my dad’s twin brother and the two high ranks’ family on my way back to my room upstairs
That was 18 years ago, when my pack lost a battle to the rogues and hunters back in Italy and had to move out and live here with my uncle’s worst enemy because those they are with are the packs that are left from the attack with only 1/3rd of the number we used to be but it seems like the hunter updated their weapons and the rogues learned new ways to fight in their wolf form causing us to lose so many of our beloved pack members who were taken hostage and we are in need of returning them back to where they belong
