Iโm just a young woman with a disability,
Who has grown up without her father.
You werenโt there for birthdays, holidays, School events and Doctorโs appointments.
When I hit all the critical milestones in my life you werenโt present to witness them.
when I experienced my first real relationship you weren't there to sit him down and let him know what you expected of him.
I told mom that I would love it if you could come to my school for Career Day, but you chosed not to accept the invitation.
Never once have I heard you tell me that you were proud of my accomplishments.
I felt as if you were emotionally detached from me on the days you did show up.
All I ever wanted was to be Daddyโs little girl.
I used to sit in my room and silently cry, wondering.
Why doesn't my dad ever come around?
Is it because of my disability?
My hope is that the father daughter bond I dream of will soon be realized someday.
