Chapter one: the nerdy girl

I start my day like any other. I wake up, get dressed, brush my teeth, study for 2 hours, and leave for school on foot. I get there and head to my locker. On it I see six sticky notes with different ways to make fun of me, they don’t offend me except one making fun of my love for learning about the American revolution (it says “I’m not giving away my shot at being the nerdiest girl in school”) it’s clearly poking fun at Hamilton my favorite musical any way I throw them in the trash which at this point is full with notes from various students. To calm down I pull out my notes on the Vietnam war to prepare for the test in 6th hour, my social studies class. I ponder the amount of my notes and remain unsure that my 5 pages is enough for the test. Suddenly a paper comes flying at my head like a homing missile from World War Two. I pick it up and Un-crumple it expecting is to be more from the bullies but I’m pleasantly surprised to see that it’s a note from my best friend heather. The reason she threw it at my head is so she can have other friends besides me. The note reads

“dear Samantha

I would like to have a sleepover tonight at my house and mabey you can help me study my algebra for the test next Tuesday find a way to tell me yes without anyone seeing or no but I doubt you’d say no
Your friend heather

P.s. be prepared because I’m behind”

And my entire day is made.
