The great war was over demons searched the earth for the last living lycan, no one knew who he was, no one knew his mate. Just that when they met the balance would be restored but not before devastation. Anger, love and secrets. Can two lost soles bring together the supernatural world or will the secrets between them and others be too great to handle.
Lycan's run the Earth since the Moon Goddess gave them the powers, to shift into wolves. Each one blessed with a gift, a mate, someone made for them. A person who will balance them them, a person to guide them, a person who is their moon. Though, other supernatural creatures became jealous, the Lycan's are royalty. Humans, vampires, werewolves, witches and demons all have to bow down to them. The humans unknowingly, demons reluctantly and witches, although rare, sought refuge with the vampires.
Vampires, jealous creatures, Sol, the sun Goddess, created them to balance the power of the werewolves. Lycan's and werewolves are similar in many ways yet so different. Lycan's had faith in all the plans the Moon Goddess put in place for them cared for all creatures, protected humans, saved witches and kept peace with demons. Werewolves acted on pure animal instinct, tore through towns and villages, that's why even though they were gifted with a mate they became impatient with the Moon Goddess, they took chosen mates, a bond would be formed with a wolf or person who isn't your fated mate. Though that caused a war between Lycan and werewolf, even though the lycan's were stronger, they lacked the numbers. Waiting for a fated , mate meant that there were hardly any children being born to the lycans, one by one they were slane. Set into the earth, the lycans were never to seen again. War broke out between all creatures, werewolves cut through them, too arrogant to acknowledge anything else. The Vampires couldn't stand back even though they loved a good blood bath they just couldn't see the world tore down. Fighting back they held off the werewolves taking them down breaking them up and putting them into packs, with the help of Sol and the Moon Goddess. Those wolves who were bitten by the Vampires died a slow painful death. Though non survived one was have told the werewolves the mistake. That was 2000 years ago, no one remembers the war and those who do were forced and sworn to secrecy as a prophecy was fortold that night. One Lycan had survived the Kings youngest son, though lycan he had a wolf and a lycan, a hybrid. No one knows how or why but he was left alive, werewolves thought that he was just a wolf. It was said for when he meets his mate, even just catching a sent, balance will begin to be restored into the world, his mate was never foretold by the dying wolf just that when he finds her, and he will...
'Oh come one' the children squealed as I closed the book for the night. 'You cant just leave it there' they all huffed at me. Chuckling I closed the book set it down on the side of the bed side table. This was my favourite point of the day coming down to the orphanage reading them a story before bed. This orphanage was special not only was I left here as a child before the Alpha took me into to be his son. Full of all different supernatural creatures.
'You know I would stay and finish it. But there's nothing else to the story. Lycan's are a myth' I told them, 50 sparkling eyes full of wonder stared at me. The story of choice in which they love is the fall of the lycan's, a legend passed on to all supernatural creatures from little. 'Also there is nothing else to it. No one knows what happens, there's nothing else to the prophecy and if there were I think the born kind would have come forward by now.' I chuckled as I saw confusion then realisation flash across their faces.
Getting up from my spot in the living room I start to move the children back upstairs into their beds, long day of school for most of them and I should know. Being a head teacher and Alpha heir takes it toll, all the children in the school are unique, each have different powers yet due to humans being in the school no one could show themselves, it kept the balance and made sure everyone was equal.
'Can we go for a run later? After the children are in bed' my wolf whined in the back of my head pleading to be let out. It was a rule through out the supernatural society that they were to let their animals out at least once a week to ensure that they were healthy and to keep them going insane. It's been a couple of weeks since I let Dylan out, an Alpha wolf should be let out more often but. With all the work load and stress it's just not possible at moment. 'We will have to see Dylan, we have that new family moving into the territory', pausing to hear a response. What I got was complete silence with a him wondering off into the back of my mind. Grumbling about how I'm no fun. Chuckling I began my walk up stairs to make sure all the kids were asleep and they were. So I slowly shut all the doors and left.
'Alpha Payne', Miss Smith comes running up behind me as I exit the building. I turn around to smile at her as she continues, 'We have heard of a new girl coming in with her family, they are Omegas correct?' I slowly nodded in confirmation, 'Do you think she would be able to help out? I'm sorry to ask but most of the teenagers around here think they too good to help, if she is an Omega then she should feel safe with in these walls, helping out the pack.' Once she finished I stood there thinking it through. Maybe it wouldn't be that bad, Dylan wasn't too keen on that idea I don't know why.
'Miss Smith of course I will ask. Just got to make sure its okay with her parents first.' I stopped to reply before continuing on my walk back to the pack house to see my dad.
'Alpha, just letting you know the omegas are on the way up. Three in the car. One male, two female.' The warrior linked me as I made my way to the office where Dad and me resided most of the time when I'm not working or at the orphanage. 'Thank you Clark. Escort them up to the pack house.' Walking into the spacious office, Dad was in his usual place going through paperwork.
'Hey Dad, the new members are on the way up.' Looking up from his paper work his hazel brown eyes looking into mine his slightly grey hair messily over to one side, he gave me a small smile before putting it away. Walking over to me place one hand on my shoulder signalling it was time to go downstairs. Descending the stairs my warriors opened the door as they walked in.
'Welcome to Silver Claw' my father began, I zoned out as I got the slightest smell ocean and freshly cut grass, looking at these people before me. 'You smell that' Dylan whined in the back of my head.
