Summary

"I fled my kingdom when I saw you that night." Xander spoke as he traced the side of my face with his finger. "How did you even find me?" I asked, my eyes glancing into his own ocean blue ones--the ones I couldn't look away from. He shrugged, "I was disobeying my fathers orders, but I'm glad I found you." He said as I vaguely noticed his face coming closer to mine. "And why didn't you go back after? Why stay here?" I murmur as his lips were millimetres away from my own, it felt as if I was in a trance when he was around, like he pulled me in. He smiled then, "for you Alex, it was all for you." ••• After one terrible night, a young women finds herself on the verge of death, but what happens when a mythical creature comes to save her?

Prologue

It was a warm summers day, the night sky was clear and the moon shined brightly in the sky. I stared off into the distance, trying to take in what just happened; it all happened way too fast. First the fire, then the shooting and now I was bleeding out on the dock.

0

Oh, this is how my life would end—me glancing up at the full moon with its reflection covering the ocean water below me. It was a beautiful colour, almost black.

0

I was the only survivor, all the others in the building had died, the shooters fleeing soon after, oblivious that I was still alive. It didn't matter, I had no story to tell because I wouldn't last until police came.

0

Blood splattered everywhere as I coughed, my head swimming with dizziness and I took a seat at the end of the dock. I was dying a terrible death. I was so afraid of death, but in this moment my mind couldn't comprehend anything. The pain had stopped, my blood slowly oozing out of me, yet I didn't feel it.

0

My eyebrows furrowed then, the water splashing to the side of me. Maybe a fish was coming to welcome me to my inevitable fate? Maybe I would die and splash in the water myself and all the fish will come and eat me.

0

Another splash was heard, louder this time, I vaguely turned my head, but all I did was fall so I was lying on my side. I didn't even recognise my head harshly hitting the wooden slats below me.

0

My eyes fluttered then, my breath quickening as I couldn't take in much air. A figure then appeared then, almost like they were in the water.

0

"Help," I whispered as they came closer and I saw them glide back down in the water again. Their head popped up then, right in front of me and they glanced down at me. "Help me, please." I wheezed out as they glanced down at where I was shot.

0

I could vaguely see their features—a strong male face, jet black hair sitting atop of head, chiseled jaw with a slight stubble, a perfect nose, high cheek bones, tanned and soft-looking skin.

0

He looked down at my stomach where the blood started to coat the wood before looking at me. His eyes shined bright with a magnificent blue colour—colour like the ocean during the day, calm.

0

He opened his mouth to speak but closed it then and furrowed his eyebrows. "P-Please," I whisper and begin to cough up blood once more. I felt myself slowly loose consciousness.

0

He left then, dunking his head back under the water and I let out a pathetic whimper—I was going to die here all alone. I closed my eyes, preparing for my fate when I heard it, a soft melodic voice.

Into the sea,

0

Pull you close to me,

0

Slide 'neath the waves,

0

It was in a language I couldn't understand. It sounded almost unreal, like it was far in the distance yet in my head. My head lulled to the side, leaving me no choice but to listen to the soft song playing.

0

Down into the caves,

0

Kiss me my love,

0

Come rest in my arms,

0

His voice came closer then, and I vaguely felt myself being lifted from the dock and being placed in the water. I couldn't fight, I couldn't do anything as we emerged deeper into the water, just our heads above the water.

0

Dream your dreams with me,

0

Slide beneath the sea,

0

Come to me my love,

0

His hands were extremely soft against my skin. My shirt had risen and his hands were sliding up and down my sides. I looked into his eyes then and into those beautiful ocean blue eyes before I felt my head go under the water so we both were completely emerged under.

0

Forgot the land above,

0

Slide 'neath the waves,

0

Down into the caves.

0

The song stopped then, and it's as if my mind finally realised where I was and my eyes widened in fear. I began to fight with what little strength I had, feeling my lungs burn for air.

0

He kept me still with his hands so I couldn't escape and my eyes landed on his. He was looking at me, his expression calm and almost lustful. I felt myself calm then, like his look could just do that to me and I didn't worry about the air I needed anymore.

0

My eyes closed, my body jolting and I vaguely felt him completely enclose his arms around me with a bright green light shining around us. That's when everything around me turned black.
