Prologue: A night of Screams!

“AHHHHHHH!!”

I awoke drenched in sweat, what a horrible dream I just had. I could still feel the cold.. sticky...slithering darkness caress my ice cold skin.

An eerie voice calling out to me with words I don’t remember. I quickly glanced at my left ring finger, glad to see- even in the dimly moon lit room that it was bare of any golden band.

“Just a dream..”

I sighed as my heavy cold feed dragged my lazy figure over to the bathroom, and without even turning on the lights, I splashed my face with ice cold fresh water. Gazing into the mirror made me jump, for with darkness, the mind easily painted silhouettes that taunted ones soul.

“I need a drink..”

I finally decided after my beating heart calmed down. Reaching for my hanging hand towel, found a bare chested wall and frowned.

“O...kay...”

Squinting in the darkness wiped my dripping hands on my shirt, only to realize it was tied with something. The material was smooth, long and silky.. unlike the fuzzy cotton hoodie I remember going to sleep with.

Fearing I was still in a dream pinched myself just to be sure. I was glad it hurt- and not in a masochistic way.

I would hate to be stuck in any sort of dream that involved a faceless monster wearing a Japanese demon mask.

Feeling a pang of nausea, headed back to bed figuring I had too much to eat. Not in the mood to throw up, skipped the drink and walked over to my bed climbed in and sighed deeply- only to find someone else there as I turned on my side.

“AHHHHHHH!!!!”

In reflex I flung my pillow at its head sending a piece of its face flying.

I was hysterical.

Within moments the large figure pinned me to the wall and cupped its long nailed hand over my mouth. It smelled lightly of burning wood, and sulfur blended with an earthly grass accent- like wet mud and rain.

A burning infusion with sweet musk.. a very weird and frightening combination of comfort and fear.

Red eyes glaring up at me from the darkness- menacing.. fierce.. deep pupil-less empty abysmal orbs...

I fainted.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
