Walk In Your Rainbow Paradise.

The rain poured down against the Kingdom of Musutafu. The night sky was already longing in the air casting itโ€™s dark shadow against the alleyways that a young male was being chased down. His heavy breaths escaped his mouth with each step. His head occasionally turned to see if his pursuer was still onto him and sure enough he was.

Why? This young man wasnโ€™t sure. Sure he had a life filled with crime with a quirk perfect for it, but he wasnโ€™t aware that his crimes were so bad that the kingdom would send an assassin after him.

His pursuer wore a hood over his head hiding his features and a cloak that draped over his body with the Nighteye symbol on the back, but the male knew he was facing another male before his hoarse voice only said one word to him as he was backed into an alleyway.

His eyes scanned around his surroundings and knew that it was over. His purser finally caught up to him with his glowing hands. All it took was for his hand to face his victim. The next thing the male knew was that his body was bubbling through inside. Before his curdling scream rang through the city as his body went into nothing but small pieces his predator finally spoke...

โ€œRest now, disgusting creature.โ€

The King was already faced with dreadful things like throughout the past month. Day after day new reports would come in about another gruesome death found late in the night. His citizens were starting to disappear one by one and he wasnโ€™t yet sure what he could do about it.

Seeing this new mountain of information before him, he knew everything was only going to get worse. A cloak was left behind bearing his own insignia meaning that whoever was doing all this cruel work knew exactly what they were doing.

โ€œReports have come in that the townsfolk are already getting upset with the soldiers stationed around the square,โ€ A soldier stood at his side from the table that the King was sitting at.

His elbows rested against the table so that his head had a prop against his hands. This wasnโ€™t going to have a pretty ending if he didnโ€™t play his cards right. If the killings were to continue then peopleโ€™s eyes would point towards the castle and directly at himself, Mirai Sasaki. Better known as King Nighteye.

This could lead to an uprising or at least several attacks against him and worst of all his daughter, the princess.

He could always ask for help from neighboring kingdoms, but itโ€™s unlikely that they would offer their aid to catch these bandits. Lord Endeavor is stuck in his own solitude meanwhile his old friend King All Might isnโ€™t altering too well, as if they would even talk to each other anyway.

He would just have to find a temporary solution for the time being to protect his little girl. He wasnโ€™t about to lose another member of his family due to a terrible accident.

Miraiโ€™s piercing yellow gaze shot over to the guard who jolted at his stare. His words shot out like ice, โ€œFetch me Togata and the princess.โ€

The princess always struggled with her quirk. It was something that she strived to get better at even though she had such limited access to training. That never stopped her though. She was not blood related to Mirai or the deceased Queen so she was never able to go seek advice about perfecting her quirk.

Luckily her handmaiden, Nejire, had a similar quirk to herโ€™s and helped out whenever she could. Her quirk was being able to produce light and use it as a small force or use it to blind an opponent, while Nejireโ€™s quirk is being able to use energy surges. While they arenโ€™t exactly the same they are similar enough to work together.

The princess wished they could train on the actual training grounds, but sadly they were always occupied by the guards and soldiers day and night which was often irritating, so she was stuck in her room to practice.

Her eyes focused on the empty space that aired between her hands. Her palms were only inches apart as she felt them start to tingle, a feeling she would always get when using her quirk. She focused on what she wanted to happen with the quirk while also keeping a quiet mind. Nejire stood beside her with her blue eyes excitedly glowing.

โ€œCome on princess, you can do it,โ€ Her sweet voice was always encouraging.

A flickering light protruded from her palms with a blinding light; she often wore glasses so it wouldnโ€™t affect her sight. The small ball of light started to grow and grow and then the princess drew a blank. What was she supposed to do now?

A gasp came from her making her lose her focus all together. Her hands spasmed and threw the ball of light forward. The two girls screamed and ducked for cover as it made an impact with her wall. They slowly uncovered their arms away from their face and watched as papers flew away from her desk.

Guilt rose into her as she saw the scorch mark left behind on the wall from her blast of light. She turned to Nejire with fearful eyes, โ€œDo you think my father will notice?โ€

Nejire returned a confused stare along with a small shrug, โ€œItโ€™s progress though, right?โ€

But of course before they were able to clean up the mess that was left behind, a knock came from her door. The princess quickly made her way over thinking that it was someone who was curious about the loud noise. She carefully opened the door to make sure they couldnโ€™t see her little mishap.

She felt relieved when the soldier that stood before her didnโ€™t look confused or concerned, instead he seemed like he had something he had to do. His eyes met hers as he stood straight to show his respect. She matched his posture to send back the same message.

โ€œYour father sends for you, Princess.โ€

It wasnโ€™t often that her father called out for her. He didnโ€™t need to, she would usually come to him first to tell him about her progression with her quirk and he would use that time to tell her if he needed her to do something. But she always got a sick worried feeling if he sent someone to get her.

She scurried down the long hallways with Nejire close behind her. Her long dress flowed gently with her reaching down to her ankles. She kept her sleeves short just above her shoulder to keep cool in the summer heat. She also wore flats to keep her feet comfortable.

Standing before the dining hallโ€™s door, the princess took a deep breath while gently pushing the wooden door open. The dining hall was just a small room with a long table. The room led into the kitchen so that the servants could easily come in and out when any meal was being served. Windows laid out on one side of the wall letting natural light inside. At the end of the table sat her father, the King. Beside him was a male she had not seen before.

He stood tall with minimalist armor attached to his body. He had a sword hung on his hip just like all the other knights around the kingdom. When his blue eyes met hers his lips curved up into the brightest smile she had ever seen in her entire life. He seemed to be exactly her age which was making her start to wonder about what his purpose was.

Finally she looked back at her father and tried to paint a good smile on her face, โ€œHello father, you called?โ€

She could tell by the bags under his bright eyes that he was stressed about something which made her a little excited because maybe, just maybe, she could finally do something to help him with kingdom duties.

โ€œAs you may or may not know, there have been several murders going around the kingdom and many of our own people are pointing their fingers directly at us as if we were to kill our own people,โ€ He rolled his eyes in annoyance. This was the first time she had ever heard about this and wasnโ€™t pleased in the slightest, she felt the annoyance her father felt but also felt a small amount of fear. Would her own people really turn against her? โ€œSo Iโ€™ve decided to assign you your own personal guard.โ€ He held his hand up knowing that she was ready to fight against it. โ€œIโ€™ve trained him myself and Iโ€™m not sure youโ€™re ready to go and protect yourself just yet. Heโ€™ll do his best in protecting you.โ€

โ€œI wonโ€™t let any harm come to you princess!โ€ The guard showed his smile once more along with a thumbs up.

While his promise seemed genuine, her fatherโ€™s words still stung like a bee, no a hornet. Did he really believe she wasnโ€™t ready to fight for herself? Did he not listen to her babble on about her progress that she made each day? Worse yet, he trained the guard and not his own daughter who was so eager to learn.

She felt like crying, but didnโ€™t want to seem even more weak to her father. She glared down at him while her fists balled together tightly, โ€œI refuse! I wonโ€™t take him as my guard, I can take care of myself!โ€

The King groaned while leaning back into his chair, โ€œThatโ€™s too bad dear, itโ€™s not your place to refuse. Until youโ€™re ready to take care of yourself, Mirio will be watching over you.โ€

Fighting with her father was futile, he was the king. He always won no matter what the issue was. She made her anger known with a loud huff as she stomped out of the dining hall. She heard the guardโ€™s armor clanging behind her which only made her anger grow.

What made her so different from the bright boy? All she was ever told was that he couldnโ€™t help her with her quirk because they were so different and she was sure that this โ€œMirioโ€ would have a different quirk than him as well. It wasnโ€™t fair, not one bit.

Nejire was also following behind them, but the princess was too far into her own mind that she wanted nothing to do with anyone, not even Nejire.

โ€œPrincess!โ€ Mirio called from down the hall just as she reached her room. His loud footsteps chased down until he was face to face with her again. โ€œListen if you want I can help๐‘‹โ€

She growled loudly while grabbing her door. She shouted loud enough for the whole castle to hear her festering anger, โ€œLeave me alone!โ€

And with that the door was slammed on Mirioโ€™s face.

เผ„ You will be mean the first few chapters and I hope I explained why well enough. Also I changed Overhaulโ€™s quirk just a little bit to fit with the fantasy theme. Instead of touching people, he is able to cast spells that make their bodies malleable, but thatโ€™s about it. Also Eri is not in this story and there will be no manga spoilers so I promise you will be safe here!

เผ„ Hope you enjoyed the first chapter!
