Prologue
“...And that’s how I met your mom”
“Wow”, Eva says with great enthusiasm. Her eyes look just like her mother’s.
“Daddy”
“Yes, Sweetie?”
“I want to meet a boy one day, just like you and mommy met”, she says to me giggling. Her smile is remarkably cutesy I can’t help but kiss her temples.
“Of course you will Eva. All in good times.” I say to her while pinching her little nose. But I’m secretly wishing she would never find someone, the way I met my match. “Now go and sleep. You have school tomorrow.”
“Good Night daddy!”
“Good Night Sweetie!” I say to her while placing another kiss on her temples.
I can hear the front door open after about thirty minutes. It must be Saphy. She said she had some unfinished work and will be late today.
I can see her removing her boots in the living area when I'm approaching her. I still can’t believe I’m married to someone so perfect like her. Grabbing her from the waist, I affectionately kiss her neck.
“So, how was work?”
“Uhg, I can’t believe how someone can be so fucking senseless. They can’t even simulate a simple protein folding model.”
“Well, for starters, not everyone is intelligent as you”, I say to her with a chuckle.
“Hmm, I guess you are right. Is she asleep?”
“Yes. And I told her how we met.”
I can see Saphy’s eyes now widening with terror.
“You told her WHAT?”
“Don’t worry honey!” I burst into laughter at her panicked look. “I just told her a typical romance story. Almost like a fairy tale.” She began to calm down at my response.
“Yet, If I told her the truth, I don’t think she’ll believe that. It’s like fiction.” I say to her while staring at her lovely face. Even though her sisters look identical, I somehow manage to see a beauty in her I neither see in Jade nor Ruby.
“I love you, Sapphire!”
“I love you too, Oliver!” She jumps into me wrapping her legs around my waist. And now we are making love in our living room! I hope Eva won’t wake up. Good thing she is a heavy sleeper.
