Living

As you’re roaming the dark empty streets, you look up and find the tallest building in the vicinity. You continue walking in your desired direction towards the tall building.

Not many people crowed the dark streets, almost as if it was a ghost town. You reach the building and decide to go to the roof.

You smile for the first time in what feels like an eternity as you look down over the edge. “Should I do it?” You say to the wind. As you make your way over the railing you answer your rhetorical question. ”Yes”

You lean back and let go of the railing falling your to demise. “Finally, I’ll die.” You say as you’re free falling you let out one of your sincerest smiles, one that hasn’t seen daylight in many years. Your smile fades as you realize you shouldn’t have jumped. “Shit” You say with a blank expression as your body hits the pavement.

Your begins to pool around your almost lifeless body. Of the limited people that are out late at night come rushing over to you, panicking as you just lay there limp. One person calls the police while another tries to feel your pulse.

The thing is, you don’t have one.

People crowed your now completely lifeless body. You are dead. The police finally arrive with an ambulance. Two paramedics come to your aid and perform CPR and TRY to bring you back from the dead.

You on the other hand, were happy that you FINALLY died. Not bad. Could’ve been messier. You thought to yourself as you felt a shock of electricity. What the fuck?! Why can’t a girl just die in peace?! Come on! You groan as you open your eyelids to see the two paramedics and the many people surrounding your once, lifeless body.

“She’s alive!” Yells a civilian while the paramedics eye you with concern. “We need get her to a hospital. Now!” A paramedic says laced with panic and determination. The other paramedic agrees and puts you into the ambulance.

As you’re getting placed into the ambulance you say with a very blank and bored expression, ”Imma just go~” You get up to leave but are stopped by a force. “You can’t go home, we’re taking you to the hospital. It’ll be ok. Calm down. Can you tell me your name kid?” The male paramedic asks you in a demanding way. You just blink at him and stay silent.

“Kid, we need your name to contact your parents.” He demands, you of course stay completely silent. “Fine have it your way, let’s go.”

You reach the hospital and are DRAGGED inside by both the paramedics. ”WE NEED SOME HELP OVER HERE!” Yells the female paramedic. Quickly three male nurses rush over and grab you and pin you to the ground. “Let me go! Let go! I just wanna go home! I’m fine!” You scream at the top of your lungs.

A female doctor then swiftly comes over and injects you with some sort of drug that makes you sleep. “There, put her in a room and put some restraints on her. Also, put some quirk dampening cuffs on. We aren’t sure what her quirk is.” Demands the doctor. The nurses then take you to a room and cuff you to the bed.

You wake up in an unfamiliar white room. “FUCK!” You say as you try to get up you realize that both your hands and ankles are restrained to the bed. “Well shit. Can’t a girl just go home? Like seriously? What’d I do? Die?”

There’s a knock at the door, without even waiting, it opens. Revealing a woman who looks to be in her early 30′s. “Glad to see you’re awake. Wanna tell me your name? And where you’re from?” She asks kindly, not something you’re used to. She wasn’t demanding an answer, just simply would like one. “Why?” You ask, raising a brow to her kindness.

“To contact your parents or guardian. We also need to puta name on your chart. "Please?” She makes her way over to a chair that is located on the left of your bed. “It’s Y/n. What’s yours?” You say with a small sinister smile making its way up your cheek.

She of course catches the smile, and in return gives you a genuine one. “The name’s Dr. Mandy Bunz, you have a lovely name. Mind telling me your last name?” Dr. Bunz takes your file and writes your first name and waits for you to say your last name. “It doesn’t matter Bunz.” You avert your eyes to the window.

“What do you mean?” She asks curiously. ”You won’t find anything on me or my parents in your system.” You say, keeping your eyes on the two birds sitting together on a branch. “Are you an immigrant?”

“Nope, born and raised here. You won’t even be able to find my birth certificate. Hell! I can’t!” You laugh at the thought of her looking for any information on you. Knowing full well, there isn’t anything. Dr. Bunz looks at you with pity, thinking that you’re an orphan. “Are you an orphan?” You laugh hysterically at her question as if it was a rhetorical one. “Sure, you can call it that. Bunz, look out there, at the birds. What do you see?”

“I see two birds who are sitting together. Living their lives.” You avert your gaze back to her eyes. “So that’s how you see them? Alive?” You lose your smile and replace it with an angry one. ”Yes. Is that not how you see them?” Dr. Bunz asks with concern. “Not at all Bunz, watch.” She looks out at the perfect moment as another bird swoops by and kills one bird.

“See. Everything dies.” You say with a straight face. “Yes, that includes you.” You let out a small chuckle at her remark. “Hey, Bunz. Can you remove these?” She looks at you, trying to figure out if you’re going to cause trouble. ”Y/n, what’s your quirk?” She asks. “Don’t have one.”
