Chapter 1: Click, Click…

If a picture can say a thousand words... how many words can a gun say?

Sitting here.

Lying here.

Just being here…

Is enough to screw anyone around.

They all hate me.

They want me gone.

I never did anything to make them hate me to the point of this.

Sure, I might be as annoying as hell.

But isn’t everyone at times?

They lie to my face.

“Oh, you can’t train with us, because you don’t have any Yokai to train.”

Only because my one Yokai was kidnapped.

But okay.

Fine.

You all made your points.

Your choices.

Next time you try to explain it, it will be down the barrel of a gun.

Lunchtime. Used to be a lot of fun. The time at school, I would look forward to.

Now it’s hell on a timetable. The only place that’s available is the training grounds. Anywhere else and I’ll get beat up.

So that’s it.

Today will be my last day of school.

Ever.

No one sits with him, he doesn’t fit in

“Hey! John! You wanna train with us? Oh, right. You can’t!”

This’ it.

But we feel like we do when we make fun of him

Almost everyone starts laughing.

Some are reluctant, all except one.

’Cause you want to belong do you go along?

It hurts. Make it end.

“I CAN’T TAKE IT!”

Cause his pain is the price paid for you to belong

He didn’t laugh at all.

A few stopped laughing, with pained expressions on their faces.

It’s not like you hate him or want him to die

I look at them. Brandy isn’t laughing. He didn’t.

Jade stopped first, though. And Tyrone.

But maybe he goes home and thinks suicide

They couldn’t know, could they?

I put a hand into my jacket pocket.

Or he comes back to school with a gun at his side

A very audible click is heard. A few gasp.

I pull out my hand, holding the gun. I start laughing.

Any kindness from you might have saved his life

I put it to my forehead. “And it’s your fault then.”

I hear Brandy scream, “Don’t!”

I pull the trigger.
