~Major Death~
×I know I’m evil. I cried too.×
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Bakugou!” Kirishima jumps for Bakugou’s body as he hurtles toward the ground. Landing on his knees he checks to make sure Bakugou is okay.
“Hey, shitty hair.” Bakugou looks up at Kirishima who is trying hard not to cry. “Why are you about to cry?”
“No reason. You’ll be fine.” Bakugou feels a sharp pain in his chest and when he looks there is a long piece of metal going right through his chest.
“Fuck. That bastard really got me.”
“Yeah, but you’re gonna be fine. Someone call for help!”
Bakugou looks at his boyfriend and smiles “Kirishima, I’m not going to make it. I can feel it... Just know it’s not your fault.” He reaches up for Kirishima’s face when a sharp pain shoots through his body but he fights it. “I love you so much I always have and always will.”
“Bakugou don’t say that! You’re going to be fine so please fight.” A tear falls down Kirishima’s cheek “I need you. Remember our first date when I won you that teddy bear?”
“Yeah, I remember.”
“And do you remember when I told you I had already asked Todoroki for the Cavalry battle I didn’t really, I was just nervous,” Bakugou’s eyes start to drift off and panic starts flowing through Kirishima’s body,” SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! Bakugou please stay awake, I need you.”
“Kirishima, please don’t cry too much. Be happy, okay your smile is my favorite thing about you. So please smile,” Kirishima smiles through the tears, “I love you. Live okay.” Bakugou smiles and his hand falls to the ground.
“Bakugou...” Kirishima throws his head to Bakugou's chest and hears his last heartbeat fade away. “Bakugou please don’t go.” Kirishima wraps his arms around Bakugou’s body and a stream of tears pours out of his soul. “BAKUGOU PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ME!” As tears fall toward the ground Kirishima’s screams feel as if they would reach the other side of the world. A fight is still going on behind him but Kirishima’s focus is only on the body in his arms. “Bakugou please..”
“Kirishima..” Fatgum lays his hand on Kiri’s back but Kirishima doesn’t react. “You don’t need to let him go but you need to take him somewhere else. It’s too dangerous here.” Kirishima stands up with Bakugou in his arms and just starts walking. He doesn’t pay attention to anything but Bakugou. His eyes are glued to the body in his arm.
“Bakugou, I love you too.” Kirishima falls to his knees and screams. He just keeps screaming till he feels the blood rush to his head. “I can’t live without you, I need you.” Kirishima just sits there and cries for a few hours. He looked at Bakugou and he realized that all of the color in his body had left. Kiri hugs Bakugou again and calls Fatgum. In the car ride to the hospital, Kirishima sat in silence and held on to Bakugou’s body. The silence hurt. It made Kirishima feel like life was caving in on him but, his throat hurt from the crying, so he sat and said nothing. Fatgum turned on the radio and the song Marry Me by Thomas Rett played and Kirishima started crying again. The memories of them together flooded through his mind.
“Bakugou. Let’s go to this one.” Kirishima points to the stand with a giant teddy bear sitting on the shelf. “I’m gonna win you that bear.”
“Oh yeah, Shitty Hair? What happens if you don’t?”
“I will keep trying till I do. I will spend every penny till I do.”
“Okay then. Prove it.”
Even though the music got turned off the memories wouldn’t stop. They pushed their way through every wall in Kiri’s mind.
“Oi. Shitty Hair, I need to talk to you.” Bakugou’s face was flushed red and he looked scared.
“Wassup Bakubro?”
“Don’t laugh or anything.”
“I won’t.” Kirishima’s smile made Bakugou turn even redder. Bakugou tried to find his words but it took a while. “You okay Bakubro?” The words wouldn’t form in Bakugou’s head so he did the next best thing. Bakugou grabbed Kiri and pressed his lips against the redheads and pulled away. When he opened his eye’s Kiri was as red as his hair.
“I’m sorry.” As Bakugou tried to turn away he felt a hand grab him and before he knew it he was kissing Kiri again.
Every moment they spent together played on a loop in his head. Every kiss they shared, every time they hugged, every laugh that slipped through their lips, moments both good and bad played like a movie on repeat.
“Bakugou, what’s wrong?”
“I can’t take it anymore. The world is too much to handle.” This was the first time he ever saw Bakugou cry. It was so strange. All Kiri could do was hug Bakugou... ” Let’s run away.”
Kiri’s cries made Fatgum cry. The sound of this boy hurt him but he couldn’t make a sound cause he knew Kiri needed this.
“Shitty Hair, I hate being tickled.” The laughs from both of the boys flooded the building. Kiri didn’t stop tickling the blonde. His laugh was Kiri’s favorite sound in the whole world.
The car stopped and Fatgum got out of the car and opened the door for the redhead. Kiri walked into the hospital carrying the blonde in his arms. He didn’t realize but he was covered in Bakugou’s blood. The looks of the nurses and doctors made Kiri look away. He stood there and let Fatgum do the talking. The doctor and nurses came up with a bed ready for Bakugou’s body but Kiri didn’t want to let him go. “Please let me carry him.” His voice was so scratchy it was almost hard for them to understand him but they understood. They lead him to the room where Kiri laid Bakugou on the bed. Fatgum had already contacted Mitsuki and Masaru so as soon as Kiri laid Bakugou down Mitsuki rushed into the room. Her cries took over the room. “I am so sorry.” He got down on his hands and knees and touched his head to the ground.
“Kirishima, please get up. It wasn’t your fault.”
“I didn’t protect him.” Mitsuki crouches down so she is at the same level as Kiri. She pulls his head up and looks him in the eyes and smiles. Tears are still flowing down her cheek but yet her smile is strong.
“It wasn’t your job to protect him. You protected him by living. He was so hurt before he met you. I thought I’d lose him years ago. You made him happy. He genuinely loved you.” Kirishima wrapped his arms around Mitsuki and started sobbing. They sat there crying for a while. Masaru stood there for a while crying on his own. He knew he shouldn’t interrupt them. Kirishima got up and helped Mitsuki up and he left to give Bakugou’s parents a moment alone with him. Kiri went to sit in the lobby and wait. He waited for so long he fell asleep. He didn’t dream. He slept in darkness... The light that he dreamt of every night was nowhere to be seen. While he slept tears dripped down his face. Life went on around Kiri and yet he stayed still. Darkness is a funny thing for there is no such thing. The stars and moon dance around in the night sky, for Kiri there were no stars, not even a moon. The light he looked for was lost.
Mitsuki walked up to the sleeping redhead and she saw the pain in his soul. She knew it was as big as hers. She placed a hand on his head to wake him up. “Eijiro, they are taking his body to the funeral home. Do you want to say goodbye?”
Tears swept down his face. You’d think with all of the crying he has done today they would be gone. “Yes please,” He got to the room and started crying even more. Everyone stepped out of the room to let him say goodbye. He walked up to Bakugou’s body and grabbed his hand. He started to lose the warmth in his body but it wasn’t completely cold yet. He sat his head down on his chest attempting to hear his heart, but it didn’t happen. “Bakugou, I love you. I love you so much. I’m sorry I didn’t do a better job in protecting you. They are gonna take your body now.” He turned around and the doorway was empty. “I miss you. I will miss you till the day I die. I will say alive, it will hurt but you asked me to so I will try.” He kissed him one last time, the feeling of Bakugou not kissing back hurt. It hurt so bad. He stood up and walked out of the room. The nurses walked in and took the body away. Kiri fell to the ground and started crying again. This time was the worst. The sight of them taking his body away was nothing but unimaginable pain. He heard Mitsuki crying behind him and he knew that she was hurting as much as he was if not more.
He stood up and walked away. He just walked it didn’t matter where he went he just wanted to walk. He ended up outside and the lights of the city made him cry. The city moved on without Bakugou. His world was crumbling in front of him and the city stayed the same. Horns honked the same, screaming people continued to scream, the signs on the side of the buildings were still bright, but his world was dark. Lights made no difference. He started to run. He gave up on walking and just started to run. His chest was about to explode but he wanted to feel it. His life felt like nothing would be the same. When he couldn’t run anymore he just let himself fall to the ground. The grass on the ground cushioned his fall. He rolled onto his back and looked up at the sky and stared at the stars in the sky. The stars in the sky danced around, that dancing seemed quiet. They mourned for Kirishima. He smiled and closed his eyes. While he slept he felt a familiar pressure wrap around his body. He shot open his eyes but there was no one there. The pressure squeezed him and vanished. He cried again. He knew what the pressure meant and he smiled.
A few days passed and it was time for the funeral. It was an open casket and everyone was going to be there. Today was going to be the hardest. Today was his last goodbye. He wasn’t dressed in black, he wasn’t even wearing a suit. He didn’t want to wear them. It didn’t feel like the right thing to wear. Instead, he wore Bakugou’s hoodie and his sweatpants. He got in his car and drove to the cemetery. He didn’t turn on the radio because he didn’t feel like crying yet. He knew he was going to cry later. When he got to the cemetery he sat in his car for a while. He wasn’t ready to face it. He was scared to officially say goodbye. He knew he could always come back, he planned on going back every week, but it wouldn’t be the same.
Mina walked up to his car and tapped on the window. “Eiji... Roll down the window,” He didn’t feel like rolling it down so he just got out of the car entirely. “That works too.” Mina wrapped herself around Kiri. His heart sank to his stomach but he didn’t want to cry yet so he hugged her back. “I am so sorry. I can’t even imagine how you feel.”
“It’s okay. It hurts pretty bad but I can’t do anything about it.” He looked at the casket and started to cry. He didn’t want to cry yet but it was too late. Mina tightens her hold to try and comfort him but the crying wouldn’t stop. He feels two more arms wrap around him.
“Esta Bien mi amigo. It’s good to cry.” Sero was the first to speak. Whenever Sero spoke Spanish Kiri never understood but he knew what he was saying.”
“Yeah, we will be here for you.” Kaminari was such a doof but whenever he was serious you could feel it in your soul.
“The guys are right Eiji. No matter what we will be by your side. Through thick and thin.” Kiri smiled and squeezed them harder. He knew they would always be there for him, but it was nice to hear it.
After the funeral, Mina had the idea of them having a sleepover, and Kiri needed it so they all went to her house. It was a calm night and at first, they all mourned Bakugou together for a while. But then Kaminari sneezed and it was like the old days and Kiri loved it. Every week Kiri went to the cemetery and talked to Bakugou. He gave him flowers and cleaned his stone. Not once did Kiri miss the day. Until he himself passed away at ninety-five. He lived a long life. He was happy. He never remarried, he knew Bakugou was his soulmate and no one ever made him feel the way Bakugou did but he was fine with it. He did adopt though. He adopted a little girl he saved. Her parents died trying to protect her and she didn’t have any family. He was so happy when she agreed to be his daughter. Kaminari and Jiro got married. They had two kids and they called them their spark plugs. Sero and Mina got married. They only had one kid. Everyone was happy. When Kirishima died his daughter took on his hero name. But to also commemorate the love of his life she took on his name too. Her hero name was Ground Riot.
