Prologue
“If you tell me where they are I’ll let you go,” Dyani whispers into the man’s ear while dragging her finger under his chin. Backing away from the man she picks up her gun and points it right in between his eyes. “So what’ll it be?”
“Go ahead and kill me, I won’t say shit.”
“Well, that’s a shame,” She lifts up her gun and sits on the man’s lap. “And here I was hoping maybe we could’ve had some fun,” She points the gun right under his chin and pulls the trigger. Blood splatters all over the walls behind them while dripping down his throat. “Boys, will you deal with this?”
“Yes ma’am.”
“Very good.” She stands up while pulling a lollypop out of her purse. She puts the wrapper in the man’s shirt pocket and leaves. While walking down the stairs she starts to get pissed. On the next floor, she stops walking and just stands there for a second. She opens the door to the floor she’s on and walks into one of the rooms. She walks up to the desk and slams down her fists.
“FUCK! Where the fuck do they have you!” In a rage, she kicks down the desk and throws the chair against a wall. Pulling out her gun she points it at the wall and clears the barrel. After she hears the last click she puts it back on her hip and straightens her jacket and leaves the building. She walks up to her car and hops in the backseat and tells her driver to take her back home.
10 weeks earlier.
Dyani turned off the shower and stuck her arm out to grab a towel. She walked out of the bathroom and headed for her closet. She grabbed a white T and black ripped jeans. After finishing getting dressed she slips on her boots and leaves. While walking down to the living space she smells bacon cooking. She jogs down to the kitchen and she hears talking. When she opens the door and she sees that everyone woke up before her.
“Why didn’t y’all wake me up?”
“Cause we thought you might want some extra sleep.” Zeus stands up and kissed Dyani on the cheek.
“Yeah. Yesterday was hectic.” Dyani looks over to see Eren smoking a cigarette. “With the attack on one of our shipments, we thought you could use a few more hours.
“Well that’s thoughtful but Brendon’s cooking bacon.”
“I would have woken you up sis.” Blue kicks open a seat for Dyani to sit. “I know not to let you sleep through bacon.”
“Thank you.” Dyani sits down and looks around the table. Eren and Zeus talking about random shit like usual, Blue picking on Dandelion, CJ standing next to Brendon watching him cook. She’s so happy with the family she has created. The most chaotic bunch has become a close family and have made so many memories together. Dyani swore then and there that she will always protect them. The love she has for this family is unlike anything else. Her world revolves around these people.
“Okay, breakfast is done.” Brendon and CJ carry over plates full of pancakes and bacon.
“Brendon it looks so good,” Dandelion stands up and hugs Brendon. “Thank you.”
“Of course. Eat up, there’s plenty more.” They set down the plates and pull out seats. Everyone grabs a few pancakes and pieces of bacon. The sounds of storytelling and forks hitting plates fill the room. Dyani hopes it’ll be like this forever.
