Day One
January 1st, 18630
Today is the day. Well, my day actually. I'm turning sixteen, and I am not happy for it.
My family is as rich as could be, owning many different properties across the country.
Another thing about them is that they always are into the differnt trends or popular traditions of the times.
And that is diffcult at times, espescially since currently, the 'thing' to do is for a women to be married by the age of seventeen.
That is preposterous.
But I guess I don't have a choice.
As I'm writing this I'm sitting in a dressing room while maids are doing my hair, makeup and other things to get ready for my ball.
And hear this. All guys that possibly could be my man are here. Talk about nervous! Oh how I wish I was in the stables right now, brushing my horse's coat. Or maybe riding him. Jumping over fences while my mother shouts to me that it's not lady like to ride a horse so wildly.
Oh, it looks like the maids are done, it's time for the ball.
