Chapter 1 Broken Cars and Stick Ups

"Frick!" I said, slamming the hood of my car down. Only crying a second after thinking I might have weakened my baby nephew.

It was about 2 o'clock in the morning, and the fricken car just broke down in the middle of nowhere, and to top it all off I can't get any service. "I'm trying to save a kid's life here can you give me a break?!" I yell, into the woods.

I sigh, "ok, I got this. This road has to lead somewhere, right? Right." I talked to myself as I walked over to the other side of the car where Otto was asleep in his carseat. "There should be a truck stop somewhere out here let's hope it's close," I said to Otto as I pulled him out of his car seat strapped him to my chest, before stuffing some of my clothes and cash into his diaper bag, and my handgun into the back of my pants. I can't just sit around and wait the longer we're out here the more likely He could find us, and that will be life and death if he does.

Thankfully Otto was peacefully asleep As I began my walk through the forest. Thankfully I put on a warm jumper and beanie as I buttoned him up into my jacket as a light mist began to fall. As for myself I could make a duo with my combat boots, black beanie, and red and black letterman jacket.

I walk along the road for who knows how long before I could see the lights of a truck stop in a clearing up ahead. I come up to the truck stop and my legs are about ready to give out as I walk inside. The truck stop was more of a smoky bar than anything else with pool tables, red stripe light, and drunk bikers and truck drivers. I could feel there's I was all on me as I made my way to the back of the bar. I walk up to the bar where a crazy haired lady wipes off the bar with a cigarette in her mouth. "What's can I do for you Girly?" The women asked as I came up to the bar.

"I need a ride or a toll truck," I said leaning on one side of the bar as I look around, "Where's the back door?" You always need an escape rot just in case.

"Well, bet any one of the guys here would give you a ride," she said laughing but I didn't find her remotely funny at all. She sighed when she noticed I was not in the mood, "Jo the guy with the toll truck, but I think you are going to need to wait for when he's sober in the morning," she said pointing to a man in a corner asleep surrounded by empty beer bottles.

"Thanks," taking a seat somewhere else, but with a view of the door. I lean my head back as I watch the crowd of the men and a couple of women talk together and play pool ignoring me at this point, which I don't mind. The crazy lady brought me coffee which was nice as I felt myself relax for the first time all day, but that was short lived when I saw Jett walk into the bar.

Jett looked around the room before he could spot me. I was off my seat, and booking it out the side door to where all the trucks were stopped. Jett must have seen me slip out because I could hear him calling me, "Ozzy Jean!"

"No, no, no! I'm so close," I thought as I throw the lined trucks, Before I got stupid, but brilliant idea. The next truck I came to I grabbed the handle and hoped it was unlocked. As soon as I knew it was unlocked I didn't waste any time climbing locking it even if there might be a sleeping truck driver inside with me.

Thankfully no was in and it was just me and Otto who was asleep. Thank goodness for that.

"Ozzy Jean, you know I'm going to find, and you will pay hell when I do," I heard Jett yell outside, as I felt tears tericale down my face, my hand self conscious going down to my stomach.

I don't know how long I sat there, I was about to get out when I heard someone at the door. "Oh,no!"

" Come on where are those keys?" The man outside asked.

At this point I can't get out without being caught, but this might work in my advantage. Pulling my gun out I took the clip out of it, because I really wasn't planning on killing any. I positioned myself right behind the driver seat.

"Finally got it," the man said, climbing into his truck.

The man slowly raised his hands as I cock the gun even though there's nothing in it. "You're taking me to the states."
