"I've been thoroughly impressed so far. While the author's writing seems somewhat new to them as a genre, it's unique and flows great. It's interesting and honeslty- writing goals I will probably learn a lot from given I mostly write fanfic right now. The characters are well-thought out and developed and it's been an honour, seeing as they come to life as they're written. The plot is slow-paced, but immersive and there's this feeling that I get, like something's going to go down, and crash hard when it does. I'm a sucker for easter eggs and foresight is always to find first as opposed to noticing it in retrospect, considering I'm not against major spoilers in most of what I like. It's fun when it's clear to the audience/readers that something is, indeed, a thing and you just wait for the shoe to drop where everyone in the story gets it revealed. The reactions are priceless. I can't wait for the next chapter and genuinely look forward to reading it!"

Good Writing but Runs Out of Steam...
"This book starts off very well introducing the characters and setting. It flows very smoothly and pretty much has no notable issues apart from a slow pace, which is fine (I didn't mind that). It took a more slice-of-life approach to writing, and again, I don't mind that. But after a while I felt like the story was really pushing its own tires... Elaine has deep feelings towards Nikola, which is obvious. But she's of course shoehorned into a position where she can't act on those feelings. Regina just won't allow it. This creates conflict that takes pretty much forever to develop on, which is a big shame. And considering the book is only a little over halfway done, I'm not very thrilled about it. Had the book been designed to be, say, 600+ pages, then I would probably keep going. At some points, the main character doesn't act how I'd expect her to, based upon her interactions and thoughts shown beforehand. Which is another real shame. The writing itself is fairly typical, but I won't say much on that because it's however the author wants to interpret the words. I've only noticed a few mistakes here and there so it was nothing to stop the flow. Overall, fairly good. But it doesn't feel like something I haven't read before. As I said: fairly typical. All in all, I'd objectively rate is 4/5 . It's worth a read, but there is the issue of the real lack-of-a-story pace."
