Spill the Wine ...
"Gorgeous Avery has finally got her man, the long sought after CEO of her hospital, Damien Foster. The happy couple seems destined for wedded bliss. After all that Avery has been through last year, she decides no one deserves a happily ever after more than herself. But life is rarely calm for a celebrated doctor and Avery is soon confronted with the unusual bruises and markings on two young children. It looks like a classic example of child abuse. I need to share this information with the police as a mandatory reporter, she thinks but little Carden refuses to admit that any abuse has occurred. Wanting to share this disturbing news with her new husband she turns to Damien for advice. However Damien for the moment seems more preoccupied with the running of hospital then listening to his wife. Will this be the start of an eventual rift that could tear their relationship apart? I haven’t read the first novel yet, but I can tell from how well written it is, that the introductory novel must be excellent as well. In fact I’m planning on starting on the previous one tonight. It also becomes obvious fairly quickly that Artic Thoughts is a gifted author. (I detected no past/present tense trouble, no POV jumping heads. The story doesn’t begin with Avery waking up to an alarm clock). I’m surprised she doesn’t have a much bigger following. But that may change with time. This is an excellent novel about a more contemporary and realistic view on love and I hope she finishes it soon. I’m dying to find out what’s going to happen between Avery and Damien, along with the fates of the abused children. "
Great start!
"Review written after chapter 4: I really like how this one is starting out. It seems like the children will propel the plot a bit, which should be interesting. I'm really curious how they are connected to Avery, but I'm also curious about why she isn't more confused by it."
