Before Ezra
The day before this night, Daddy was warning Mary-Rose to be careful the whole night through. Very careful for several reasons. With a military posture, Mary had shut up my mouth, and she had shut his mind to any disagreements. All protests would have quashed. Yeah, Mary Rose’minds focused on all words he said this morning before the last night. One more, she has behaved when she is paying attention to his advice.
Besides, it is for this reason that I think despite everything, the evening of February 14 was good. Yesterday was a good day, a good night. That’s what she thinks again and again. She believes that when she opens his eyes today, she can seeing the same people as yesterday. Mary-Rose shall be happy as yesterday to see them all.
This morning, she believes that they, too, will be happy to see her. They will say hello to Mary-Rose, and she will have replied that it was nice to be with them last night. Finally, this is if you have friends, you have to be nice to others. Likable. Not moody. Not too nice because people are very mean. People like people who are funny. Andy told her to be funny, but dad told his daughter to do not to believe everything. Andy tells how she had to watch out for Natalie’s smiles. Natalie is so great, but Eujin is not sure about it. Mary-Rose will be disappointed to know the truth. She knows what Natalie thinks of herself.
And if she had to be wary of what Andy says, she also had to beware of what Eujin thinks of her. Why would Eujin be a good person?
Melanie thinks her boyfriend’s daughter, Mary-Rose, is naive. Dumber than normal. That’s what Melanie thinks of Mary-Rose. Mary-Rose is sure of herself.
“Kitty, the dad, said at the end of this prolonged talk, I would like to you one of the happiest Valentine’s Day of the world...”
Yesterday was the date of this feast where being in love is meant to be happy. If someone is happy, he, she, everyone is in love. That’s why the day before Valentine’s Day, a person like Melanie looks at you with a smile on her face and asks: “Mary-Rose, do you have a Valentine for tomorrow?” Mary thought the best answer to say was she had a Valentine if she wanted an answer to that question. She said that I was luckier than her because she only had Mary’s dad as a Valentine. Mary had three Valentines. In theory, she had three Valentines to celebrate this 14th February.
Melanie was taken aback by this surprising announcement because she visualized the possible consequences of that fact in Mary-Rose’s life. Same time she analyzed that the education of his boyfriend is very lack and so childish. She could not remember a time when his father scolded.
Whatever! Each of his Valentines for a moment that Mary-Rose chose with genius. Morning, Lunch, Afternoon before the night party.
The morning was for Daddy. He already takes during the feast with Melanie but not all day. Just because she wanted to use his charm for the night, Mary-Rose realized that perhaps Melaniewas was preparing to buy a dress or cause his body sporting one last time to be nice to charm my father. The theory says that the night embellishes women like all actresses from movies, specifically color films or award ceremonies.
For Mary-Rose, the best choice for lunch had been Andy.
Andy with his terrible eyes. Blue pupils but red all around. A rainbow balance between a peaceful and joyful human in the world and the darkest hour at the end of the brightest euphoric disillusion that he ever made. In the meantime, he had had time to have a sudden movement of violence to separate heaven and hell cleverly.
He must be suffering severe aches before he needs to tell stop. Mary-Rose knows that about his pale skin and his numerous scratches that they become over time scars. She did not doubt that, but she was never sure where Andy’s mental health could lead him. Because blemishes in his pale skin tell anything but Andy’s word couldn’t say much about pain in mind.
Even if she’s not very good at remembering a bit of advice from Andy on this meal, she is delighted to reminisce details that may seem unremarkable for many reasons and the majority of the population. Still, Mary-Rose, the only one concerned and not like most humans, remembers these moments because she cherishes them. It might be possible that she can be idealizing them and forgetting the most important.
That’s why she smiles without good reasons, with eyes closed on where she was now.
And then she forgot about last night. She only concentrated on her lunch with Andy. The appetizer that he had ordered and that Mary-Rose didn’t want to order the same thing. Because she knew she couldn’t eat dessert after an appetizer for the first time. All along this time, she was a hungry person who can require time and patience. Andy is speaking about this night.
There was a silent moment in Mary-Rose’s mind after she should remember the first time Andy mentioned last night. She remembered that he had used expressions like “no interest,” “redneck party,” “fucking party,” and “no fun” with an airy voice with a contemptuous sneer.
He was sneering. He continued to disbelieve the party organized by Natalie. According to Andy, Natalie is not good in this area. Natalie has no imagination. Natalie has no fucking taste. Natalie lives with the affirmation that the only person will always be someone when she is nothing and that she will always be nothing.
Then Mary-Rose opened his eyes at last, and she finds herself set out. She begins to live in the present moment without neglecting the burden of the past. Finally, she saw what she should have seen while reliving the past. In the present moment, she was still where the night had ended the day before. Under a bed, her body lying straight and always covered with the same candy-pink dress that Andy had begged her not to wear for the evening. This dress was not worth wearing to a party of morons. But Mary-Rose enjoyed this dress. She liked the color she picked married to her brown skin. And this is the first time when Natalie invited Mary-Rose. Yeah just Natalie
“It may be good.“, debuted Andy when he was eating
“Indeed, you put this famous Natalie on the top, and you are on the bottom. A bit like Romeo and Juliet on the balcony. ”
Mary-Rose thought Andy could have been drawing a bit parallel with a famous written tragedy and an ordinary relationship between Natalie and her. An inch of delirious foolishness and the non-sense of the critic.
“But without the annoying aspect of a tragic and romantic story. It is the story of Natalie and Kitty. You begged her to love her until the end of her days. I hope you have already planned the poison for your respective deaths. So on the night, the only one feeling in common is love. What is love for you? It’s like any “yes” or synonym that you can understand and smile at you.”
Andy finished his reasoning and drank. Supposedly, he wanted to slake his thirst. But like his curly platinum blond hair, Andy always could produce an ordinary gesture as a theatrical act. Yes, he tried to quench his thirst with a sweet and energetic drink, but he wasn’t thirsty.
He wanted his saliva to be refresh after this enormous effort to explain why this girl in front of him was possibly stupid or possibly in love with Natalie. Otherwise, it could store both possibilities, and it would be great. At least that’s what Andy was thinking with the desire to see how both romantic and sick wishes could come true even if the young woman were a regular person like Mary-Rose. He wanted more adventurous stories with a lot of twists. Like a movie, he desired those things that can happen when things get out of hand.
He wanted to adventurous stories to Mary-Rose. And maybe that’s the real thing—any desires from Andy realizing day or another.
“Lovuality” should be used as a mixed name on lovers and very discreetly. It might be possible that she authorized to ask her what she thinks about the options of numerous labels by a million people who considered or not prying eyes on the intimacy. But one thing: she has a deep affection for Andy. Andy is the kind of extraordinary person that you should never forget.
Natalie is the best at making new friends. Natalie doesn’t need others for everything, excluding the fact that Natalie except the one most thing that Natalie can’t change: the name” Natalie.”
In the last Rendez-Vous, Mary-Rose met his friend Eujin. She prefers this moment to the other of the day. And that’s why she chose Eujin over the other. Eujin takes Mary-Rose to a coffee shop that she didn’t go to before bringing her over there. Formerly she had to decide where she would go throughout this moment. Act as cavalier, Eujin invited his friends to this place without concession.
With gallantry, he immediately said something about this “different” place.
Mary-Rose has chosen the real enthusiastic place for Eujin, and she has able to imagine him and her culture and faraway places far from her.
" I think this a real...good mix up of something that I can asss...”
A type of pastel pink is the color-based painted on this place. In addition at tiny objects remind Mary-Rose of the Korean culture. They seem very interested in the written inscribed at the door. She shyly smiled like a child, excited by the idea to come to the coffee shop, a new spot probably a fashionable place after Eujin spends money for her. Maybe she was one of the one's first girlfriends who invited by a possible boyfriend. Still, the man he’s just a friend but Eujin and Mary-Rose provide a striking first view at a couple.
Because she and him also intertwine their forearms. That makes this style even more intimate and passionate among themselves. And they need to bring a gift for each one so we could assume that they are a couple. Little bit charming. Eujin was not passionate about this place.
When she analyzed that thing again, Mary-Rose, she opens the eyes again. The day after Valentine’s Day. The day after the fake boyfriend celebration. She is lying under a bed.
Since Mary-Rose is paralyzing, somehow she is afraid, but she prefers to tell herself that she can find out what happened to her by trying to remember yesterday before she gets up and looking over the bed.
But nothing of what Andy said or Eujin’s complaints. Last night, Natalie preferred to ignore her. Mary-Rose disagrees with this behavior.
She wanted to tell him, with a kind of firmness that she couldn’t muster at the time, that she was not a token of gratitude because people saw her as socially handicapped. She still had the same two friends, Andy and Eujin. Fucking odd, boys. That’s what Natalie calls them, and she added a layer, and she blamed them.
Or the real thought she just the only person who cannot be staying in their presence or just a grudging admirer of them. In another way, Mary-Rose is an admirer, and she can love Andy or Eujin with real thought. But the other ordinary people only prefer to enjoy them because they look fabulous with their clothes and their money which everyone knows they have earned by giving the best of their bodies. What at the same time, people do not accept the pure principle of convention and purity. In other words, we can love them for a particular form of admiration, more or less keeping a great modesty. But Mary-Rose, she loves them. In Natalie’s eyes, she was even a kind of God who forgives sinners. At the same time, she could be simply stupid. But, well, given that definition, Natalie never really believed in God, let alone a too dorky God.
And then these sinners have come to the party. She remembers Mary-Rose that Eujin wore the new clothes that he purchased after the cinnamon tea (the only thing Korean about this lame place )that he drank his dumb fucking Asian coffee shop where Mary-Rose to take him.
At the frippery, after having suffered the lack of a culture of the people and the blundering of her friend, Eujin bought a vintage Levi’s Jacket in navy blue color and orange oversize pants made of satin. The pants were pajama bottoms, but Eujin lied the first time he said that he wants to use these pants before when he has an excellent chance to have a pretty person to show his beautiful bum to during the morning wake up. Early on in the night, the pajama became one more tissue on the denim jacket. He had sewed up the fabric of the pajamas on the sleeves of the vest. Eujin was skilled in sewing, and he had a lot of creativity. He completed the look with a black silk scarf in a spider web pattern and an old t-shirt with a painting.
Mary-Rose looked at him a lot with astonishment, but she stopped when she made a satisfied smile when she saw that Andy was wearing the same clothes as at noon. The same t-shirt with paint stains and skinny jeans. She looked at him, and she could not know what he was feeling. If he was feeling pain or if he was feeling resentment. He had once glanced at Eujin, who was standing to his right, and then returned his gaze to Mary-Rose was forcing herself to smile at him.
She remembers that funny feeling she had when he had watched for a long time with the strong message to say nothing and mostly pretends to be happy. He didn’t have that respect to want to let her speak for something she wanted to say that she was not well. And then she preferred to remember Chen’s denim jacket. It was much nicer than anything before the person above the bed said a sentence at the end when she woke up the following day.
