The Ballad of Luna

The stars, twinkling dots in the sky,

The night wind fills the air in my lungs,

At the rustle of the leaves and trees,

The crickets and frogs chirp beneath.

The clouds and open sky,

Like a beach and an ocean up high,

The fluffy clouds layer over one another,

But the aura of the Moon glows oh-so brighter.

On a street under a lamppost,

As planes fly by,

Mesmerized under Luna’s light,

A glow ever so pure,

A light ever so bright,

The clouds shift revealing her,

I stare at her heavenly glimmer.

Her elegance, perfect for a dance,

Her beauty, perfect for a song,

Her gaze, perfect for the waves,

Her beacon, perfect for a poet.

There she floats in the heavens,

For her, my heart beckons,

She gives me hope, she gives me strength,

She gives it all with no expense.
