Here You Stand
Here you stand
At the top of it all
Ransacker, poach monger
Hornswogglesworth
All long to see you fall
Cracks and leaks open up each time you reach
For all those stars which will only burn your hands
Terribly tragically in a tawdry sort of style
Invariably dastardly to make it all worth while
For nobody really loves you
Until they can stand above you
Pat your hair and muss your head
Call you big guy, mac, sport
And leave you lying for dead
So what do you do
When the pedestal falls on you
The summary of your piece really intrigued me so I had to check it out. I didn't connect too much with this specific piece but oh I loved your line "for all those stars which will only burn your hand."
I hope you update it soon though, I'd like to see what else you'll write.
