To when we were still us,
When we still smiled
and hoped for another day together.
Take me back to days of glory.
Before we wrote our saddest story,
Before we messed it up
and forgot who we were.
Take me back to the moments before the tears,
The ones that seemed like heaven had welcomed us,
The only times we felt at peace...
Take me back!!!
Let's travel back in time,
So i can never hurt you,
Before our life's drifted apart.
Take me back to our better days.
Days where we couldn't help,
but lovingly stare into the other's eyes,
Before the heartache.
Take me back to times when days seemed bright,
When the sun wasn't clouded by our hateful sadness.
Take me back to love,
Back to a dreamed reality.
Take me back to Us.
But mostly...
Take me back to you.
I love poetry! This first poem was especially touching and evoked a sense of sorrowful longing for what was and a keen sense of nostalgia that was beautiful to read about. Lovely first poem.
