Why.. why was this happening?..
It all started in that stupid train..

As I was helping Tanjiro sit up after his injurie I saw something in the corner of my eye.
I turned around as fast as I could and saw a demon with white skin like snow, pink hair like Sakura trees and tattoos that ran down his whole body,
He ran up to my face just within a blink of an eye, he was already so close to my face, but I couldnβt do anything I was helping Tanjiro and I couldnβt defend myself, he was going to punch me and with one punch he would of crushed my head.
Rengoku then pulled out his sword and split his hand into two but he was a demon so he could regenerate, the demon then stand back and took a look at Rengoku and was quite surprised, the demon then introduced himself as Akaza the 5th upper moon, and he said that he came there just to talk with Rengoku about becoming a demon himself but of course Rengoku denied his offer.
βPlease stay backβ Rengoku said while protecting you and Tanjiro, you felt a strong sensation of worry in your stomach. you knew something bad was about to happen but your couldnβt do anything because you, yourself was also injured, all you could do is watch him fight and risk his like for you guys.
As Rengoku was blowing is last blow Tanjiro screamed his name βRENGOKU-SANβ you then noticed.. he got punched through his body, you couldnβt move you couldnβt say anything you couldnβt even get up to help at that moment.
βIf only I could of helped you that day you might as well still be hereβ.
Tanjiro, Inosuke and I then got up to help him as fast as we could but it was too late, Akaza had already ran away because the sun was coming up u stayed by Rengokuβs side trying not to cry as Inosuke was standing by your guys side, and Tanjiro threw his sword at the demon and kept on screaming for the demon to pay for what he did.
You were holding Rengoku and you could feel the warmth of his blood on your hand you then shedded tears you couldnβt stop yourself from crying, Rengoku then with his other hand holded your arm saying βy/n please donβt cry for me.. I did this to protect you guys please keep on going and protect those who you love and care aboutβ I then saw that something caught his attention you saw nothing, but as he was about to die he died with a smile.. I guess.. heβs at peace now..
Once he was in peace you screamed his name out while tears were running down your face.

Oh my god this chapter absolutely destroyed me I was not ready for that emotional gut punch you just brought back the entire Rengoku death scene from Mugen Train and now I am crying all over again just like the first time I saw it the way you wrote it from Y/N's perspective made it so much more painful like feeling so helpless and just having to watch him get hurt and then him telling her not to cry while he's dying with a smile on his face I am actually sobbing right here and then the twist that it was all a dream and she woke up not even remembering who he was just what the heck that is so cruel but also such a good plot device like why cant she remember him is this some kind of memory loss au or is he actually gone from her memories forever I need to know what happens next does she ever find out who he was or does someone like Tanjiro have to tell her the story because if she starts having more dreams about him and pieces it together I might actually lose my mind this was so sad but so well done even with all the typos my brain just auto corrected everything because the story was just that powerful.
