Walking over to my locker, my heels clack against the titled floor drawing the attention of everyone in the hallway. Some of the players drool at the sight of me and I crinkle my nose in distaste, I admit I used to be a player myself sleeping from one guy to the next but it all changed when I met my boyfriend of six months Jacob Taylor (who is currently glaring at everyone who looks at me for a second too long)
I grip tightly onto Jacob’s hand in reassurance and his steel-grey eyes soften slightly as they meet my brown ones and we continue to my locker to get the books out of it that I needed for my morning lessons
Grabbing the books I need for the morning periods I check my blonde hair out in the small mirror I have in my locker, I must admit as well that I did dye my hair a lighter blonde because as I got older my yellow blonde hair started going browner but I liked it blonde so I grabbed the nearest dye box and dyed my hair back to the colour it was when I was little
When I close my locker over the bell rings overhead and I sigh before giving Jacob a quick kiss and waved him goodbye before going to my lesson as we had a different first period but same second period and on the way I bumped into the schools outcast Annabeth Chase (She was an outcast but also well known as she joined halfway through and had the ability to become popular with me and my friends but she mostly just stuck to herself)
Her cold and stormy grey eyes met mine with an intense glare and I flinched back, despite her looks, that girl could be scary if she wanted to, but when she saw I meant no harm her gaze softened a little but she was still calculating me as she spoke: “I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going I was trying to get away from some players who just don’t seem to get through their heads that I have a boyfriend!” She huffed then looked up at me “Are you alright?”
I nod trying to conceal my surprise that the outcast had a boyfriend but I guess I shouldn’t be because with those Californian looks every guy in the school has so far tried to ask her out (except Jacob) and all have failed to end up sporting a black eye to emphasise their failure “I’m fine and I completely understand, people can’t fathom that I have a boyfriend now so I know what those longing glares are like”
Annabeth laughs and it's surprisingly girlish “I know right, you're Ashley right?” I nod once again and she beckons me over “You have Mr Jenkins now and so do I so I’ll sit by you and I can help you with the things you don’t understand”
I nod Annabeth being in the same class as I have obviously realised that I’m horrible with Science
. . . .
Halfway through the period, the PA system crackled to life cutting off Mr Jenkins speech about Selective Breeding which I was thankful for because I didn’t understand a word of what he was saying “ALL STUDENTS REPORT TO THE ASSEMBLY HALL IMMEDIATELY ALL STUDENTS TO THE ASSEMBLY HALL”
Whispers erupted around the room like wildfire as everyone got up and filed out of the room to move to the assembly hall. When we got there there was 13 thrones on the stage, all in a circle with people occupying them and in the middle of the circle there was a young girl tending to a fire
Everyone was confused as they looked around in their chairs for an explanation and beside me, I sense Annabeth tense and her face drain of colour as the man with the black beard and who looked like he was the leader of the 13 people stood up and decided to speak “Good Morning Mortals, my name is Zeus and I am the king of the gods and we have decided that we shall reveal our world to the mortals”
Almost instantly people started bowing (me included) as they didn’t want to get blasted out there seats but I noticed then that Annabeth didn’t bow in fact she was sat back in her seat her arms folded and her legs stretched out with a wide grin breaking her face in two “Do you want to die?” I hiss to her
She says nothing and just continues smiling as Zeus goes onto explain how sometimes the gods come down to the mortal world and have relationships with mortals. These relationships often end up with the birth of a child who is half-god and half-human is otherwise known as a demigod or half-blood and these demigods help to save the world from Greek monsters who the majority of the Mortal world cannot see with the help of Apollo’s prophecy’s and they are a huge help to humanity and should be treated as heroes"
“And now I ask that the demigod who is in the school join the rest of the seven up on the stage please” Zeus announces and clicks his fingers and all of a sudden seven teenagers are on the stage dogpiled on top of one another. They quickly sort it out though and are back on their feet faster than I could blink
A boy around my age with raven black hair and swirling sea-green eyes, eyes scan the crowd and when they land in my direction the boy slowly smiles nearly matching Annabeth’s jaw-breaking grin “C’mon up Wise Girl!” He exclaims
For a second nobody moves but slowly Annabeth pushes her chair back bringing the attention over to us and she quickly stands up and rushes over to the stage before I could ask her what was going on, she made her way up on the stage and ran at the raven-haired boy giving him a tight hug and muttering something like ‘Seaweed Brain I kissed you' but I knew that wasn’t it so I kept quiet as she hugged more sisterly the other six teens and only then did it click in my head
Annabeth was a demigod
“Title Annabeth,” A goddess says to her who has brown hair and grey eyes like Annabeth
“Yes, mother,” She says addressing the goddess before turning to us “You all knew me as the outcast but I’m also a demigod. My name is Annabeth Chase, daughter of the Goddess of wisdom and battle strategy I retrieved Zeus's lightning bolt from Hades helm and survived the sea of monsters was an escapee from circle island and have almost defeated every monster in Greek Mythology I am a two-time saviour of Olympus, one of the seven official architects of Olympus and head of Athena Cabin as well as head of camp with my boyfriend Percy Jackson to name a few of my titles because if I named them all we would be here all night!”
She then turned to the boy that she hugged before and kissed him on the lips, before they were all flashed away in a blinding white light and even if I had only just met Annabeth and Percy I knew they were going to be together for as long as they could be
That was how I met Percabeth
