Prologue

After a long tiring day of waiting tables on her Parents' café, Song Hyeri finally get to rest after closing up. They don't require her to wait tables, she just had to do whatever it takes to increase her allowance. Besides, it's not like they have many customers. Compared to other cafés in the area, their cafe was a little out of date.

Not much on the menu but a bunch of pastries and only black coffee, unless you request a creamer and a sugar. Hyeri likes it that way. Only adults come here, so she wouldn't have to serve her classmates or students from other school for that matter.

Since they already closed up the store, Hyeri's mother – Shiah, placed a white box in front of her. "Surprise!" She smiled at her daughter. Behind her was her husband – Minho, who doesn't look to sure about this.

Excited and overwhelmed, Hyeri ripped the gift wrapper and opened the box with her bare hands. She was surprised to see a white Canon camera with a sky blue strap a new camera bag, and a replacement charger. The one that's been sitting on the 'lost and found' box for at least 6 months.

She frowned, meeting her mother's eyes. "What if the owner comes to claim it?" She challenged her mother.

"Then we give it back. We didn't delete the contents, you know." She informed her disappointed daughter, and it shows. "Oh honey, just use it for your school trip to make memories and we'll put it back on the 'lost and found' after if it helps ease your conscience." Her mother joked.

"Or, she can use her phone to take pictures. I told you this is a bad idea." Minho told his wife.

Afraid to hurt her mother's feelings further more, Hyeri just accepted the gift and proceeds to pack snacks for her school trip, not touching the camera, afraid to scratch it or do any damage to it. Hyeri never really desired for a camera, at least to her, her phone takes descent photos anyway.

But she was afraid she'd hurt her mother's feelings if she didn't accept. She already bought a camera bag and all. It would be such a burden to not accept it.

The next day, Hyeri met up with her two bestfriends, Lee Mina, and Han Jaeya in front of the school on their assigned bus.

"I'm excited to see Jeju Island." Mina exaggerates, mocking the destination. Not only she wanted to go abroad this time, but it was last year's destination as well. Only Hyeri and Jaeya knew how much she has complained about this matter.

Despite that, they tried to make the most out of it, taking lots and lots of pictures using Hyeri's new camera. For three days, they made sure they had pictures that would last them a lifetime until the memory card was full.

They unexpectedly had a blast, despite Mina's complaints.

On the bus ride home where everybody's already sleeping, Hyeri has decided to take sleepy photos of her friends for fun, but forgot that the memory was full. She has decided to delete repeated photos and photos that aren't good enough.

Upon looking through the photos, she came across the photos that the previews owner took. Unlike them, the previous owner didn't take group photos or scenery. She took stolen shots of someone, inside his own room, while sleeping.

It's Park Jay, a boy from school.

Without looking more into it, Hyeri turned off the camera and put it away, trying to process what she had done. The camera belong so someone close to Jay. Someone who can take photos of him sleeping at the safety of his own home.

Hyeri just wished it wasn't someone from school, or they would've seen her use their camera.

When she arrived home, she transfered her photos on her computer and swore to herself that she would no longer use the camera. Even if her life depends on it.

Later that week, she couldn't help but stare at Jay. She wanted to give him the camera, but is shy to do so. She's never talked to him before and she wouldn't just randomly talk to her about a camera.

"Stop looking at my man!" Jaeya told Hyeri, hitting her shoulder with a book after the discussion and the teacher left the room.

"I am not." Hyeri denied, but still glanced at Jay who's sitting back, stretching his neck and talking about few things about a replay of a soccer game that Hyeri wasn't interested in.

"You were clearly eyeing him since the moment he stepped in the room." Jaeya stood up to block Jay from Hyeri's sight. "When he transfered I asked you both if you like him. You said no! You can't take that back now! I'm already into him for years." She complained.

"I don't like him, now calm down." Hyeri whispered, pulling Jaeya back to her seat before she draws attention to herself. The three of them aren't used to attention. They're one of those group of friends in school who doesn't get much attention. Inactive in school activities and doesn't get invited to hang out with other classmates.

It's just the three of them. A bunch of left overs who ended up being friends because when everybody leaves the room, only the three of them are always left.

"Then why do you keep staring at him?" Jaeya asked possessively, as if she's dating Jay.

"I was clearly looking at Jungwon." Hyeri used her childhood friend as an excuse, waving at Jungwon for the first time for almost 6 years. The two of them drifted apart in middle school when Jay transfered. He became friends with Jay and automatically became one of the cool kids.

It wasn't his fault they drifted apart. It was Hyeri who started to distance herself from Jungwon. She hates being seen, or noticed, and thought that hanging out with Jungwon would cause that.

Jungwon waved back happily. For years now, he thought he did something wrong to make Hyeri ignore him like they never knew each other at all. Her waving at him now is a relief.

"Oh? Right. You were childhood friends." Jaeya sat back down with an apologetic look.

Now that Hyeri has convinced Jaeya that it wasn't Jay that she was staring at, she can finally breathe.

Or maybe not,

Because Jay's whole crew are now looking at them.

At her in particular.

She froze when she made an eye contact with Jay himself.

"You know her?" Jay asked Jungwon, who's smile can't be defined at the moment.

"She's my bestfriend. Was! But one day she changed." Jungwon muttered, frowning at the mystery of why Hyeri stopped being friends with him.

"Isn't she girl who used to sing on school celebrations?" Sunghoon – one of Jay's close friend asked as they stare at Hyeri, who's now gathering her things to get out of the classroom.

"That's her." Jungwon confirmed. "She stopped that as well. She used to be well liked in grade school and middle school, but one day she just decided to fall into the background, like she got sick and tired of it." He added.

Jay carefully watched her as she awkwardly left the room with her friends.

Jaeya saw it and had a brilliant idea. "Hyeri! You should start to talk to Jungwon again. That way we can be friends with them. Then I can finally hang out with Jay and maybe we can start dating." She suggests.

Mina started laughing at her friend's idea, while Hyeri was speechless.

"What?" Jaeya asked.

"Oh honey, keep dreaming." Mina frankly told her.

"It only takes one, one conversation with Jungwon. You were close friends before. It'll be easy to be friends with him again. Catch up with him, hang out with them and then introduce me to Jay." Jaeya explained her brilliant plan.

Mina was out of words. She felt pity on her friend. She must've never experienced the bitterness of being rejected before, to come up with this little plan.

"Out of the way."

The three of them looked at the door and it's Jay, behind him are his whole crew, Sunghoon, Jungwon, and Jake.

The three obediently stepped out of the way as they watched Jay's crew walk the corridors. Jungwon gave Hyeri a nod, then proceeds to followed Jay.

The rest of the students gave way as they walked in the hallways as if they're kings.

"There's no way in hell, I'm going to get involved with them." Hyeri told her friends.

A/N: Today is my first day at a new hospital. I hope it would be better than the last one. I'm too anxious to sleep so I wrote another fan fiction. Seriously, there's something wrong with me.

This must be the first time I'm writing a fan fiction of an idol twice in a row. And that confirms that I have finally lost my mind. I usually don't do this.

Let's escape reality through Jay.

Let me just than you in advance for reading, and adding this to your library.
