Prologue
Part One — The Tribulations of the Future
I have a request, my dear; please take good care of your sister. She will be in great need one day. — my grandmother
Teresa had been lying in her bed for well over sixteen hours by now. Her arm was numb from the weight of her head as she opened her tired eyes and glanced over the alarm clock.
The lecture had already started. Right now, her students were probably wondering why their professor wasn’t there.
Fuck it, she thought.
She stretched an arm over to her bedside cabinet and accidentally knocked over the vial containing her tranquilizers. The pills scattered among the heaps of unwashed clothes that were littering the floor.
Without looking, Teresa fumbled around by her bed. After a while, her fingertips touched two of the pills that had rolled into a brassiere cup. She slid both of them into her mouth, turned around, and slept on.
Nice story
Hi LittleHelp,
I just finished reading your story The Granddaughter of Time and I loved it so much. Your writing is captivating, and I kept imagining how visually striking it would look as a comic.
I was especially intrigued by the prologue, where Teresa Hargrove, exhausted and disillusioned, contemplates giving up on a doomed Earth. The imagery of her lying in bed, reaching for tranquilizers amidst the chaos of unwashed clothes, sets a vivid tone that would translate beautifully into graphic storytelling.
Additionally, the scene where Teresa's grandmother's cryptic words echo in her mind, urging her to take care of her sister, adds a layer of mystery and foreboding that would be compelling to depict visually.
I’m a commissioned artist, and I’d love to draw your story into a comic/manga. No pressure though, I just think your work would look awesome in comic form.
