Intro and description
This is a partial unfinished story that I started writing many years ago. I would love to get your feedback on it and any suggestions for improvement. Please ignore any typos etc.
Book description:
Can you see me? is a Young Adult Fantasy Fiction Adventure novel set in modern London. The story centres around James Hawk, an awkward sixteen-year old only child who lives with his overbearing parents.
He craves adventure as he finds his life dull and uninteresting, until the day he mysteriously turns invisible. He soon finds other invisible people who live together in their own communities, unseen by the regular world.
The so-called ‘Invisibles’ are divided into the Light and the Dark and use their powers for good or evil. The Light are the unseen guardian angels, that use their powers to help and protect the people of the regular world.
The Dark are invisible tricksters and use their powers to create disorder and harm others.
James discovers that he is neither Light nor Dark, but neutral. This throws up many questions that neither side can answer, but both sides must compete for his allegiance, believing that he is the “Chosen One.”
When James falls in love with Evie, a member of the Dark, it throws his whole perception of good and evil into question.
Their whole existence is threatened with the sudden arrival of the Illuminati: an ancient sect of hunters capable of entering the invisible world at will, hell-bent on destroying the ‘scourge’ of the Invisibles. James discovers that his neutral status gives him special powers to switch between the real and the invisible world. A power he uses it to help battle the hunters.
The Light and the Dark must learn to somehow work together to defeat the Hunters and in the process, they discover more about the origins of their world and other dangers lurking on the horizon.
