Prologue
It was a dark night... darker than any night. Her eyes were scared, unsure, and alone. She found herself usless, running up and down, doing no good. But she had to, for the dragons. She knew they meant no harm, it was like her job. "Night Fury!" "Get down!" Yelled some vikings. However, Stoick The Vast had a different idea. "Kill the dragons, leave none alive!" As he would go to swing an axe, Valka would put herself in between them, protecting the dragon at all costs. "Valka! What are you doing!" "Protecting him!" Stoick pushed his skinny wife away, no one could stop him... but Valka pushed the Monsterous Nightmare away and Stoick only managed to chop off it's foot.
He felt like he could hit his pregnant wife, but knew it was for the best of them.
Months had passed, and Valka gave birth to twins. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock and his older twin, Hilda Estrid Haddock. Both were so proud with the effort to pull it off. Hilda hated sleeping though, so Stoick always carried her in the battlefield... strangely, she seemed to enjoy it.
It had been a whole year. The Haddock family were proud, at least Valka was. Estrid could hold a hammer, yell at dragons, yet Hiccup was still struggling to crawl. Stoick grew fond of Hilda, with all of her potentials. Valka always used to sing to the two every night. "My little viking proud and dear, your Mummy is always here, all dragons will help you on your path, so ignore your father's stinky demands," she sang. Hiccup used to always laugh at the last part.
Then there was the night, that tore the family apart. A dragon, entered the Haddock house when Stoick was fighting and Valka was washing Hiccup... Hilda sat on her bed, she was bored. Valka heard the dragon, she quickly ran in, leaving Hiccup downstairs. Holding a axe she was ready to hit the dragon, then she saw how nice the dragon was playing with Hilda, and she dropped it.
Back in the village, a viking called Estrid (Valka's only friend) decided to help Valka, concidering she wasn't the biggest fan of fighting dragons. She opened the door to see a Night Fury and a Stormcutter, staring at Hilda and Valka. Estrid dropped her hammer and walked over, placing her hand on Valka's shoulder. Then Stoick barged in, with a iron sword, "No," cried Valka as he sliced the Nightfury's wing. The Night Fury grabbed Hilda and the Stormcutter grabbed Estrid and Valka. "VALKA!" cried Stoick. "Stoick!" she yelled back.
From that day on, Stoick grasped Hiccup tight. No harm, could get to him, but there was always something missing, half the family.
Gobber was in the pits too. Estrid had been the love of his life, and he finally had the courage to ask her, she was gone. Both men didn't know what to do. Gobber quit on love, knowing it would hurt him again, Stoick, Stoick decided not to try again because there was no one like Valka, and raise Hiccup as best he could... making him a real viking.
