Kai Chisaki, also known as Overhaul, aka your boss.
He always had this cold glare in those golden eyes of his, and it was very clear that he didn't like people.
That much was obvious as soon as you were recruited into the Yakuza, he didn't spare you a single glance, and only spoke a few words to you.
Mainly, it was orders to have you heal the wounded.
That's right, your quirk was Restoration. In a way, it was different from your regular everyday cliché healing quirk, but other than a few differences, it was still the same.
You could heal someone's body, and reset who you were healing to full strength. You could even heal the most fatal wounds.
Your interest only peaked for your boss, wondering if there was possibly someone in the world that could break that cold closed off exterior of his.
"Are you curious about the boss perhaps?" A voice suddenly said, making you jump in surprise as you quickly whipped your head around, only to see Chrono, Overhaul's right hand man.
"Chrono, you almost gave me a heart attack." You breathe out, waiting for the pounding of your heart to slow.
"My apologies...but you avoided my question." Chrono says with a emotionless tone.
"Well I can't help but be interested in the boss. I can't help but be jealous of who gets to see him let down his guard. That would be a sight worth millions." You shrug.
"The boss doesn't have a significant other." Chrono says bluntly.
You tried to hide your surprise but it was so clear as day that Chrono couldn't help but let out a small chuckle.
"Is it that surprising to find out that the boss is single?"
Even if you couldn't see Chrono's face, you could hear the amused tone in his voice and envision the smirk he had plastered on his face.
"Well yeah of course I find it surprising." You reply, showing no signs of being flustered as you said this. "Someone with looks like his is single? I can't imagine someone who wouldn't be surprised."
"I see...well I'll admit that I too am curious of what emotions and expressions he would make with someone special to him. Tell you what, I'll make a bet with you." Chrono suggests.
Your ears perked up at this.
"I'm listening." You say, getting really interested.
"Since you're so curious about the boss, let's make a bet if you can make him fall in love with you or not. If you win I will buy you food any day you wish."
"Okay, and if I lose?"
You couldn't see Chrono's facial expression under the mask, but for the record he was smirking.
"You'll be doing the laundry and dirty dishes of all the Yakuza here."
Your face paled when hearing this, Chrono was practically saying that you would be the Yakuza maid until you died.
"Alright deal, but I get to decide the time limit." You huff, crossing your arms.
"How much time do you think you'll need Y/n?" Chrono asks, feeling quite curious about how big your confidence was in actually succeeding in this task.
"Give me a hundred days. No more and no less."
"A hundred days? really?" Chrono asked, his voice had gotten slightly louder in surprise.
"Yep, starting today this is day one. I'm very confident in my abilities. You could say I'm a woman with endless confidence."
"Yeah..no kidding..." Chrono mumbled, watching you walk over to Overhaul.
Chrono was kicking himself over and over again. He didn't even know why he suggested such a bet. You've been here for only a week, and yet Chrono found himself to be attracted to you.
This was all his own stupid fault. Chrono had just thrown away any chance he had with you. Chrono could only hope and cross his fingers that you would fail.
Chrono cursed in his mind. He was an idiot. An absolute idiot.
You walked up to Overhaul and smiled brightly at him.
"Hey there boss!" You greet him cheerfully.
Overhaul raised a brow at you, his golden eyes full of suspicion and confusion.
"You're the Yakuza healer I hired right? What business do you have speaking with me? I really doubt you've finished healing the injured."
"Yes I'm the healer, and incase you've forgotten, my name is Y/n." You huff, puffing your cheeks out into a pout.
"Did I ask for your name?" Overhaul questions, frowning at you.
"No, but it doesn't hurt to tell you anyways." You respond with a smile.
Overhaul sighs, clearly annoyed with you. "So, have you finished healing everyone or not?"
"Overhaul sure does like to quickly change the subject.." You thought, internally sighing.
"No, I have not." You respond with a sly tone and a small smirk.
"Then why are you slacking off and talking to me? Finish your job plebian." Overhaul growls, growing irritated.
"That's what I'm doing." You respond with a smirk.
"Huh?" Overhaul's golden eyes widen with surprise as you rolled up his left coat sleeve.
"I finished healing everyone but you boss. I noticed you had cut a small wound on your arm by accident, so I thought I'd come heal it for you." You say, smiling brightly.
Overhaul's golden eyes widened in surprise, and he was quick to yank his arm out of your grasp, frowning slightly with a confused look in his eyes.
That look was quick to disappear and fall back into the cold glare he usually had, saying in a harsh voice,
"It's just a small cut, it's not going to kill me so don't waste your time over something stupid like this. Also, don't touch me again, and if you wish to speak to me stay six feet away. I don't want to catch whatever germs you have on you plebian."
And with that, Overhaul stormed away in a bad mood, itching his arm as hives started to form on it.
You sighed with disappointment, but in a way you expected that outcome to happen.
You didn't really mind that the little flirting/caring about Overhaul's small injury didn't work as planned, but that was fine.
After all....
It was only the first day
