Preface
Riptide Melodies is the second book in the Fate of Dawngarde series. It cannot be read as a stand-alone. The preceding book is titled Moonlit Songs and you’ll have to read it in order to understand the events going on in Riptide Melodies.
Unlike its predecessor, Moonlit Songs, Riptide Melodies has an increased mature rating due to descriptive scenes of intimacy, acts of violence, and gratuitous nudity of female bodies. It is recommended for readers 17 and older.

As a recap, I’ll be providing a few points of the important events which occurred in Moonlit Songs. Please note, this recap will in no way, shape or form fill you in on what happened in the first book, and I still highly recommend you read it if you have not already. This recap simply serves as a refresher or a reminder for those that have already indulged themselves in the first book. Quite a while has passed since its release so I understand every detail might not be fresh in every reader’s mind.
Key Elements:
• The war between the guardians of the land and seas- In the first book you were introduced to the war raging within the realm. You learned things are not as they appear and dark forces are threatening both the lives of these beings and the stability of the realm. The guardians must look past their differences if they wish to preserve their beloved realm.
• The prophecy- Astrea learns of the prophecy woven into the fate of the realm. She must face her truth and follow the path of her destiny while carving new passages leading to victory. However she will not be doing this alone as she has her soulmates accompanying her.
• The journeys ahead- Following the revelations regarding the dark forces, Astrea learns of the journeys ahead she must embark on with those she loves. If she wishes to help this realm she has come to love she must face the dark forces head on for the relics they’re all after.
• Astrea’s search for her mother- In the beginning of the first book Astrea was given her mother’s journals containing important information about the realm and her relation to it after learning about her family’s involvement with the realm on her mother’s part. It’ll be elaborated on further in Riptide Melodies.
Mom’s Journal- Astrea was given her mother’s journals containing important information about the realm and her relation to it after learning about her family’s involvement with the realm on her mother’s part. It’ll be elaborated on further in book 2.
• Thea’s deception- Astrea was led on to believe Thea was not who she really was after the two met up at a secluded area on multiple occasions and got to know one another (riverfront clearing). There will be more of a confrontation about this in book 2.
• Xander’s past- Xander tells Astrea himself about his past and the romantic relationship he had with Liana. This element builds up their trust in their relationship and will play a key role in book 2 as they open up to each other.
The battle against the Dark Knights– toward the end of the story, it is revealed the sirens were in fact not the cause of the wolves’ deaths and were in fact the Dark Knights looking to deceive the wolves into believing the sirens were the threats. In book 2 Astrea will be receiving training to understand her abilities and in turn, face these beasts head on with a clearer mind regarding her powers.
Characters:
• Astrea’s Mother- As hinted in the first book, Astrea’s mother will be a turning point in this story and dire questions will be answered.
• Queen Thelxiope- Following the unveiling of the unfathomable abilities she possesses, Astrea will be receiving training to understand her abilities and in turn, face these beasts head on with a clearer mind regarding her powers.
Astrea’s father- Astrea’s father is pretty knowledgeable about the realm as his wife was a part of it before she was forced to leave after a safety threat. This gives further explanation to how Astrea willingly leaves her family in the human world behind and reveals the numerous mysteries of her connection to the realm.
• Werewolf Council Member Barmon- The WWC keeps tabs on the human world to make sure everything is safe and alright, thus Barmon’s involvement with humans. He is Astrea’s principal at her school, her father’s friend, and another key factor as he is a familiar face within the realm Astrea is comfortable with.

Now that you’re all caught up, you may proceed monching on your favorite snack under a cozy blanket, or at the beach watching the sunset! Be sure to cozy up as it is a ride ahead. This is Thea’s story and her time to shine, so I’m very happy and excited to share this book with you guys.
I know most of you are very excited to hear that I’ve increased the rating as I am aware some readers were disappointed with the last book and the fact that the intimate scenes were too tame for their liking. I’ll tell you now that I for sure let my smutty fingers loose in this story. (that sounds gross but you get the point)
As you read I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions, hell, I’m open to suggestions if you have any. You can reach me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and discord: @author_antonella sinner , you may also email your suggestions and/or comments at the email: [email protected]
Looking forward to hearing back from you!
