While speculation exists on how the universe came to be, it is a fact vampires came into existence alongside humans. As the human population grew, vampires began mating with humans, driven into lust following their feeding. This led to the creation of hybrids.

Hybrids. Not quite vampire. Not quite human. Sensitivity to sunlight, superhuman strength and speed, ability to nourish themselves through blood or food, and immortal… Stronger than humans, but treated lowlier than them by the vampires.

To pure-blood vampires, humans were quick meals, but a hybrid? Hybrids could be used again and again and again.

As quickly as hybrids came into existence, they fell captive to the pure-blood vampires, working as their slaves through labor, through blood-exchange, and through sex. Traded among the vampiric royalty, hybrids were coveted to be the submissive servants to pure-bloods and destined for nothing more.

Hybrids went into severe heats, triggering the instinct of pure-blood vampires not only to drink from them, but to mate with them as well. Pure-blood vampires became driven to claim hybrids as their own, to use again and again, through every heat hybrids experienced. To claim a hybrid is to mate with it, despite gender and genitals. A pure-blood claiming a hybrid is as sacred a union as marriage, if not moreso, and was to be honored by other pure-bloods.

Despite the hand hybrids have been dealt, not all of them will bow their heads and do as they are told. Some fight. Some bare their teeth and work to dismantle a system that has methodically ripped them apart for centuries. Very few survive these battles, but all agree it is well worth the sacrifice if it means the wore will be won.

The following is a story of one of the many hybrids walking among us. This is the story of the Diamond Clan’s brightest royal, Prince Dara Rivers fighting for the safety of his clan and his territory next to his best friend and pure-blood, Colton Briar.
