Hi Vanessa Nicole,

I just finished reading your story “Orbit” and I loved it so much. Your writing is amazing, and I kept thinking how cool it would look as a comic!

I was particularly struck by the haunting prologue on the balcony under the full moon, where Octavius cradles his child in the cold night air and whispers, “To the moon,” only to be scolded by Omari for endangering their baby. The contrast between that serene lunar glow and Omari’s horrified expression, complete with the gunmetal shadows of the balcony railing, would make for an unforgettable opening splash page that immediately sets the emotional stakes

Another moment that jumped off the page is the Summary’s reveal where Octavius, long mute and trapped by royal duty and his own silencing fears, finally meets his flamboyant online companion in real life, and Omari “couldn’t believe who his boyfriend was.” I can already picture the dramatic panel where Omari’s jaw drops in the candlelit throne room, the intricate embroidery of Octavius’s princely robes juxtaposed with Omari’s vivid attire, capturing that perfect blend of shock, joy, and burgeoning love

.

It really is ideal for making a comic, as the interplay of royal intrigue, muted grief, and vibrant romance practically begs to be visualized in rich, expressive sequential art.

I’m a commissioned artist, and I’d love to draw your story into a comic/manga. No pressure though, I just think Orbit would look amazing in comic form.
