Chapter 1
Abby loaded up the last of her stuff in the car. She walked in the house and looked around one last time.
“Anna is ready sis,” Lance said.
“I know, I’m just looking one last time, thanks for handling the sale and stuff,” Abby said.
“Not a problem sis, I’m pretty much settled here in the city with Emma so it’s the least I could do while both of my sisters move to another state,” Lance said.
“It’s more like a fresh start,” Abby said.
“I’ll miss you guys,” Lance said.
“We will miss you bro, give Emma a hug and we will call once we get there and get settled,” Abby said.
“Okay sis love you,” Lance said. He hugged and kissed her forehead. He did the same to Anna after she got out of the car. Abby got in and they drove off out of the city.
“I’ll call Brad and tell him that we are on the way,” Anna said.
“Are you sure he’s okay with me staying there, I know he would be happy that you are there but me as well,” Abby said.
“I told him you would be with me and he said it was just fine, he lives at the ranch with his parents, brother and niece, his sister is away at college, one brother lives nearby with his wife,” Anna said.
“How many brothers does he have?” Abby asked.
“Two brothers and one sister,” Anna said.
“So three boys and one girl,” Abby said.
“Yeah, Brittany is the baby, his mom wanted a girl and kept going until she got her girl and she told her husband no more so he went and got it taken care of,” Anna said.
“Brad told you that?” Abby asked.
“She did when I first met the family,” Anna said.
“Are they nice?” Abby asked.
“Sis, once you meet them, you will become a part of the family, they are amazing people, when Brad introduced me, his mom and sister pulled me into the kitchen and we began talking like we have known each other for years, they even hugged me when I first met them,” Anna said.
“Anything I should know?” Abby asked.
“Brad told me yesterday when we talked that his brother, Matt, is a single dad to a five month old baby girl, there is a long story why he’s a single dad but all I know is that she gave up her parental rights to the baby because she didn’t want to be a mother anymore, he is raising the baby with the help of his parents and brothers, I did make a suggestion,” Anna said.
“What’s that?” Abby asked.
“That you could be the baby’s nanny,” Anna said.
“What,” Abby said.
“They would pay you, there is a lot of work to be done around the ranch, Alice usually helps but she’s had to stay in the house to watch the baby while the guys go out to work, she’s hands on with the baby and barely gets paperwork and payroll done for the ranch hands and the ranch bills,” Anna said.
“Well I can do the paperwork and payroll, you know I’m good with numbers and all that,” Abby said.
“You are great with kids too,” Anna said.
“I know but do you think he would want a complete stranger watching his kid?” Abby asked.
“You won’t be once you meet them, besides I talk about you and Lance all the time that they practically know you both without meeting you guys,” Anna said.
“We will see once we get there,” Abby said.
“Okay North Dakota here we come!” Anna said. She settled into the passenger seat as Abby drove for awhile and then Anna took over so Abby could rest. It was going to be a long drive since they were coming all the way from Charleston, South Carolina. The ranch was located outside of Valley City, North Dakota.

Quick note from author:
Thank you for reading my stories. Please don’t criticize the way I write by pointing out the ‘he said she said’ parts. I want my style to be different from others and want everyone to know says what in my stories instead of everyone guessing who said what. It’s the way I have always written since I started over 20 years ago. Please only send positive comments and reviews. Keep the negative stuff to yourself. It will not change my way of writing and I won’t change my way of writing so keep those negative stuff to yourself. Have a good day and thanks for reading.
