Summary

"Listen Kenzy, I know I've been an ass and truthfully maybe you shouldn't even bother returning my calls. You're right, I've been nothing but awful since we met, driving you away yet desperate to keep you close" My heart clinches, but I dared not breathe. Too afraid to give in, too afraid that if I reach for the phone, I'll call. I'll call to make it right. I want to make it right, because this man affects me more than I ever thought he would. But it isn't right. I can't give myself false hope. "Please just talk to me, let me explain. It's not you.....it's me. I'm the asshole. You don't deserve this, you didn't. ..." He pauses and I hold my breath still, fearing he'd hear me breathe, yet, it's only his left voicemail on the phone. Not him "I'm sorry.......dammit!" And that's it, our one sided conversation ends and I'm more broken than before. What happens when your world crashes? When the people you thought would be there forever literally runs through the door without a second glance backwards? What happens with taking a step outside your comfort zone? What happens when that step outside that comfort zone turns into....well unexpected? Personalities clash, feelings are crushed and just maybe that one person you ignore turns out to be the damn life savers. Easy enough, but did I forget to mention they belong to someone else? Will what happens in summer stay?
