"Are you sure you're ready for this?" My dad asked as I grabbed my suitcase from my room.

"I just need to get away from here dad, a vacation will do me some good" I sighed.

"I'm just worried about you after everything" he sighed.

"I know and I love you for it but I really want to do this. It is only for the summer" I smiled.

"You do what you need to do honey just keep me in the loop".

"You don't need to worry so much dad but I promise I'll call every night before bed" I compromised.

"Alright... I wish you hadn't picked somewhere so remote".

"You know Lily is there so I won't be staying alone. She even agreed to stay at the hotel with me" I smiled.

"I'm glad you have a friend there. Stick together and if anything happens call me and I will be on the first plane out" he reminded me as he pressed a kiss to my forehead.

"I will let you know, I promise".

"That's my girl" he smiled. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm fine dad, stop worrying" I chuckled.

"I will always worry about you, it's my job" he chuckled back.

"Alright let's get you to the airport" he said as I grabbed my bags and we walked out to the car. The airport was close by and I could have walked there but dad insisted on driving. I tossed my bags in the trunk and hopped in the front seat. "Are you excited about the trip?" He asked as he started backing out of the driveway.

"Super excited" I grinned. "I get to see my friend and try out all of the cool stuff in the town. They have everything... zip lines, hot air balloons, trail riding, horseback riding, scuba diving" I started listing things.

"Those all sound amazing" he smiled.

"Who knows, maybe I'll finally learn to surf" I shrugged.

"Well make sure you have an instructor" dad warned.

"I'm not that clumbsy" I chuckled.

"You can be if you are distracted" he chuckled back.

"There won't be any distractions" I shrugged.

"Not even if you see any cute boys?"

"Dad why would you say that, you know I'm not looking to date right now" I shook my head.

"We all have needs sweetheart" .

"I know but that doesn't mean dating" I grinned.

"As long as your safe" He reminded me.

"I know dad you gave me the talk forever ago" I replied.

"Well don't forget, I don't want to be a grandpa yet" he said as we pulled up to the airport.

"I won't dad" I rolled my eyes. "Besides, I will probably be having too much fun with everything to be messing around with guys".

"You know they'll find you. You stand out like a shining star" he smiled as I grabbed my bags and we started walking in.

"Thanks dad" I smiled back as we walked in to go through security. Dad stayed with me as long as he could but now it was time to board.

"Be careful and be safe. I love you" he said as he hugged me.

"I love you too dad" I smiled.

"If you miss any of my calls I will fly over there" he warned as he broke the hug.

"I will call you once a day dad" I rolled my eyes.

"Alright have fun and be safe. Let me know when you land" he waved me off.

"I will dad, see you in a few months" I waved back as I went to board the plane.

I put my bags away and settled into my seat. I knew it would be a long flight so I tried to get comfortable. Hopefully I would sleep most of the way there.

**********a while later***********

I got up and stretched my legs after the painfully long flight. I grabbed my bags and filed out of the plane into the airport. I looked around for Lily and saw her holding a sign with my name on it as she typed away on her phone. I walked up to her and she eventually saw me, "Del it's so good to see you!" She hugged me and I hugged back.

"You too it's been way too long!" I replied as I moved out of the hug.

"You're going to love this place, there's so many cool things to do!" She smiled as we walked out to her car. "You can toss your bags in the back seat" she said as she unlocked the doors and climbed in.

I tossed my bags in and climbed in the front seat. "This place already looks amazing" I smiled as I pulled out my phone and snapped a picture, sending it to my dad.

"Who are you talking to?" She smirked.

"My dad" I chuckled.

"You're no fun , when are you going to get a man?" She rolled her eyes.

"My dad is the only man I need in my life right now" I replied. "Are you dating anyone?"

"No but I have someone I see for some fun" she winked.

"Really?" I was surprised, Lily was always very shy growing up.

"Yeah just to blow off some steam" she smiled as she started driving.

"Well it's good that you're having fun" I smiled.

"Maybe you will too! There are so many single hotties here. It's really hard to pick one" she frowned and I laughed. "You'll see what I mean when you meet one of the Raymonds".

"Who are they?" I asked.

"They own most of the town and all of the tourist attractions. They are the super wealthy and powerful family around here" she explained in a duh tone.

"Well if they are as hot as you say why haven't you snagged one?"

"They are very open about what they want and a lot of them have reputations as players. I don't want to get some STI or something" she crinkled her nose.

"Do you think they're good in bed?" I joked.

"They look like greek gods, of course they would be good in bed" she laughed.

"So where are we going after the hotel?" I asked.

"Exploring of course. I have to show you everything around here" she said happily.

"That sounds like fun" I admitted. For the first time in a while I felt genuinely happy.

I'm not understanding why she's staying at a hotel if her friend lives there. I'll go with it for now.

First of all, clumsy is spelled without a b. Secondly, looking like a Greek god does not automatically mean they are good in bed, I speak from personal experience.

Hi L,

I just finished reading your story Delilah and the Raymonds and I loved it so much. Your writing is amazing, and I kept thinking how cool it would look as a comic.

I really loved the scene in Chapter 11 where Delilah and Lily share a quiet moment on the porch, reflecting on the events that have unfolded. The emotional depth and the serene setting would translate beautifully into a dynamic comic panel.

I'm a commissioned artist, and I'd love to draw your story into a comic/manga. No pressure though, I just think your work would look awesome in comic form.

You can check out some of my recent work on my DeviantArt (Username - Ev3Verse). If you're interested, please message me on Discord (Username - Eve_Verse) so we can bring the story to life visually. I'll be waiting to hear from you!
