A Suspenseful Read - Spoilers Below
"This story was very well written and I enjoyed the initial captivation of the plot through the struggles that Luke was experiencing in his personal life and career. I really appreciated the descriptions used that really conveyed the feelings each character was experiencing or the environments that they were in. My only feedback was in some of the early chapters there was repeated usage of some words while describing the characters, that took away from the creativity clearly presented in prior and subsequent paragraphs (for example, the paragraph describing Sandy's features). That being said, these points were so minimal, and do not take away from the novels successes. I also felt that there could of been a little bit more on the development of Kelly and Luke's relationship. Given the time spent on the cases, I felt there was so few interactions that really showed this relationship going from a serendipitous meeting to full blown love. And in those few interactions Kelly displayed very erratic and emotional behavior (though somewhat understandable) that didn't really show what Luke could possibly see in her other than her beauty and the fact he happened to meet her grandfather. It felt a little rushed and I think that adding just a few more chapters to delve into Kelly, whether that be her negative experiences with people on the Police Force, her budding business, or sooner involvement in the plot where Kelly is part of the murder investigations progressions, would really tie her into the story vs. being a brief side plot. Overall, I loved the writing and will definitely continue to read your other novels! :)"

A Steve McGee Classic
"I've always enjoyed good books from this author, needless to say I was in awe of this one. Once more, Steve McGee has outdone himself. I was heartbroken, disgusted, curious, shocked, humiliated and hopeful with Luke. The author has always shown an affinity for the paranormal, thus the ending wasn't that much of a shock. A little sad that we wouldn't get to meet Brian anymore. I loved his little personal joke when he replied the commissioner about his mentor. All I can say is, I hope his ex can see what she missed out on. I was too preoccupied with the plot to give the grammar much attention, but from my point I only noticed a few blunders. Good job!"
