Life Takes an 'Interesting' Turn
Penny here!
For those who’ve not found their way here through my public page, or my previous publications, let me tell a bit about myself. At the time of this writing, I’m your not-so-average A-list blogger and independent columnist here in San Marino. As a member of a visible minority, I take on cultural pieces and like to post about events from that perspective. To most readers, I’m just your average 20-something black woman who spends most of her life on social media promoting local events. Search my name, and it won’t be hard to find articles and online publications about what’s going on around the city. As a new, bubbling metropolis, our little town exploded past a million people in only two generations. Some of the hottest talent on the East Coast have found their way to fame through San Marino’s entertainment scene, so there’s almost always something to talk about.
For those of my regular followers, you may wonder why this publication is sort of tucked away from my primary site. To explain it all better, this will start off as a sort of personal diary than what I usually share on public social media sites. Those who are current with my life might want to come back here to figure out how it all started. Some of my readers have requested that I add in parts that I may have skipped. Life can suddenly become a whirlwind of adventure when we least expect it. As I turn what was to be a blog into a mini-memoir, I hope this will make better sense to y’all.
I mostly started this blog to sort out my own thoughts, but it has taken on a life of its own. I’ve been sort of quiet about a recent relationship, and I realize I’ve sprung a lot on my fans lately. Yes, the rumours of a wedding are true. I have so much to tell you!
So, let’s take a step back in time to catch up with current events. My life has been a whirlwind adventure lately, taking me to unknown places and leading to both wonderful and frightening discoveries.
Some of these passages are likely to be shorter than others, as I want to separate each life event into its own chapter. I’ll share event dates or seasons when possible. Some events have muddled my memory of my whereabouts, so they might not precisely match my social media postings.
So let’s dive into my love life! Yes, that’s right, this is me pouring my heart out for the world to see. This involves someone special who has completely swept me off my feet.

My Twitter DMs are set to only people I follow, so that I don't get spammed or hit on by random people. I actually don't use Twitter much these days. I'll need to change that to Bluesky. My profile includes email and other media contacts. Again, I'm not looking for an artist to render my book into a graphic novel.
