THE STORY BEGAN thousands of years ago when God created man and woman. Individuals who did not only obey out of fear, but because they loved Him. A nation who understood and thought for themselves, who possessed the ability to make decisions, and who could reach a conclusion. With this, He gave the world’s populace things to enjoy and have fun, to work and accomplish something on their own.
However, humans somehow never saw the love of God and felt restricted, although God provided them with everything they desired. Therefore, humans chose their own path, following their own way towards a success they themselves chose for the future. It broke God’s heart, even though He knew it would happen.
The freedom so freely given became the frontrunner. It ushered in separation and distance in a relationship God intended and created for a purpose. The consequences of said decision pointed towards death. Humans soon realized the mistake, tried with all their might and power to find a way back. Back to before the deviation happened, but the attempts were egocentric and only for self-gain, avoiding the real issue.
Works or endless pleadings could never buy God’s love. It was always unconditional.
God saw this endless cycle of humans drawing near, only to turn back to the appeal a sinful way of life offered. They chose a seesaw faith instead, thinking good works made up for their multitude of sins. In hindsight, humans lived with the lie, that once the path they chose differed from God’s future, they would be severed from His love forever.
Then His Son Jesus Christ stepped in and stunned the world’s audiences, bringing with Him the solution to the reconciliation problem.
He became the Word made flesh, showing throngs of people through signs, wonders and teachings Who and What God truly is. Died on a cross and conquered the grave, then rose and sat at the right hand of His Father in heaven, signifying the human race’s relationship was restored with God Almighty.
Two thousand years after this incredible victory, still, individuals reject God, His Son and Holy Spirit – unable to recognize this truth. For this love needed a response in saying yes to God, accepting the way He provided, not seeking their own way, but submitting to His plan and will for their lives. Trusting Him, having faith in Him, giving themselves unconditionally to Him and over to His control.
