Dom POV

I was running as fast as I could to the hotel room. The worst mistake was bring my wife here. The kids. I didn't think about them either. This whole business trip planned by Roberto was all a lie. His events were always involved with people being killed. My heart was racing as I thought about my wife with our new born daughter. She gave birth to her two other nights ago when we were here in California. My boys will be her protector if God forbid something happened to me and my wife.

My phone rang and it was my wife. "Hello, Elena?" I sounded concerned and the minute I heard her cry, I felt a lump in my throat.

"Please stop! don't hurt my kids.. I promise I'll do anything! Dom!" She screamed horrific.

The scream echoed into my ear and imagining my kids being separated from their mother. My anger grew in me even more when I realized about my new born daughter. I drew the phone back to my ear and I recognized the voice from earlier. Roberto Rodriguez..

"Roberto." I clenched my teeth while griping the phone with a anger tone.

"Hello Dom, nice party it was wasn't it? such a shame when I called you during the party for a business meeting with one of my best business partners, and yet... you refuse to give up the pin that you promised you would give me when we were young and how do you say? trouble maker." he snickers evilly

I griped the phone even harder "where's my wife and my children" I carefully tried not to yell because I know Roberto. One wrong move and he'll hang up.. this is how he plays through the mafia world. Being the most dangerous mafia criminal he is and wanted in the world is what he drives him to the top.

Ever since we were teenagers, his father took me in as if I was one of his own kids. My father was always working and never had time to be a father for me or my sister. his motto was always to work then family. He doesn't know anything about family, my mom left to Mexico and later she never wrote back or anything but instead, my father delivered the news saying that she found a new life over there with a son and a husband who she can depend and love on.

From that moment I realized that Roberto and his family was all I had, his father especially drew me into the mafia business and successfully I became good at it, all because of him. Roberto was nothing but always bringing trouble into his home.

The most shocking thing I've seen from Roberto is that his mental health was not stabled. His father was always abusing them, his mother would always criticize him for anything if he did something good.. I know deep down Roberto all he wanted was love. But I guess now every time he goes to love, it makes other people question about him.

I'm surprised that he found a wife who can put up with him and of course she was born into the mafia lifestyle.

Without my father taking care of me or Roberto's father, I had to be a father to Mia. She was the only sibling I had and I promised myself that I would protect her with everything I had. Remembering all the memories I had with Roberto brought me back to reality, hearing his voice made me wanna throw the phone to the ground.

"Well your wife and beautiful children.. are here in the hotel room all tied up but don't worry, it's not the children I'm going after." He chuckles darkly. "Instead it's your wife who I will go." I can feel him smirking through the phone.

"Let them go!" I snapped through the phone while gripping.

"Not until you give me the pin to the safe Dom, or else I won't hesitate to take away your children from you! and well let's put it this way.. your wife will be killed and your son heir to the throne will be taken away. While your daughter and young son will suffer on their own with or without their parents. So Dom what's it going to be?" He questions me.

"I'll give you the pin to the safe." I hissed

"Perfect, I'll see you up here and remember.. I have eyes everywhere; watching every move and don't even think making one escape because I won't hesitate to kill your wife right here in-front of your children. You have exactly 50 secs to get here, Adios Dom." He cuts the line.

I rubbed my hand on my face trying to think of a plan to take my wife and kids safely out of there. Hold on Lorelei I'm coming..

Elena POV

Roberto just got off the phone with my husband Dom and I looked over to the corner to see my boys holding their new born sister Amelia. I shut my eyes to think something peaceful but the picture of Dom being killed is uncontrollable in my mind. single tears were starting to come out of my eyes. My children are my priority to me.

"I won't let you get away with this." I growled looking straight into his dark blue eyes. He leaned close to my face and took a look on my face to then grabbing my chin.

"Once your husband gets here, I will have him give me the pin to the safe and when he does, I'll have everything and when I do." He chuckles under his throat. "your children well.. better pray that they will-"

I spit right in his eyes "You're nothing but a coward. Your own father wouldn't give you the place to the throne of the family!" His hand was slapped right across of my face, causing me to fall down to the floor. I brought my hand close to my face as I felt the sting.

"I am the mafia king and world most dangerous criminal, I have no fucking shame of killing you right there in front of your children!" He grabs both of my hands making me stand up. "Especially your oldest sons." he raised his voice right in my face. Roberto turned his face and ordered the guards to grab Antonio. My heart was in pain as I watched them trying to get themselves ripped away from those monsters.

"No, no please!" I historically cried

"Mamá!" Antonio cried and it shattered my heart to see him like this.

"Hijo, it's okay mamá is here.. you're going to be okay I promise."

He whimpers as Roberto grabs him by his collar shirt at the back. "For many years, the blood of your kind was always taking everything from us." He snarled. Antonio had tears running down on his cheek as he kept his calm for me. "Tonight, everything will change."

This whole night was a trap by him. It was no coincidence that He only invited us to ask Dom for the chip. Many amount of money is stashed in there for safe keeping and many other plans that are considered illegal. "Your husband has exactly 1 minute to get here and if he doesn't.. well you know history." He talks to his guards in Spanish and signal him a nod to then throwing Antonio to the ground.

I hysterically grabbed Antonio and wrapped my arms around him as he began to cry softly. "Don't cry Toni, everything is okay." I did everything I could to cheer him up but how could I? With all this happening.

"No I won't mommy, I-" he talked through his hiccups and tears. "I'm scared." His voice was filled with fear. I looked over to see Anthony trying to calm Amelia as she was crying. He comes over here with her and carefully cradles.

She kept crying softly and her brother were nothing but filled with tears coming down on their cheeks. Suddenly in my mind, I remember a song that I sang to them every night. Maybe this will cheer their little minds and hearts from this trouble. Softly I sang my voice. "Come stop your crying, It will be alright, Just take my hand, Hold it tight." Amelia stops crying and her eyes softly closes and the boys sat next to me. Antonio laying his head on my shoulder and Anthony wrapping his small arms around mines. "I will protect you, From all around you, I will be here, Don't you cry."

They stopped their tears and I brought them closer to me as it would be the last time I would ever see them. God forbid this would happen and we won't break apart.

The guard that stood here walked out of the room to answer the calls. "I'll be back." He hissed. When he shut the door, I quickly thought about the knife that I had in my purse. I asked Antonio quietly to get the knife out of there and to carefully cut the rope off of me and the tape that's wrapper around both of my ankle.

"Antonio sweetie, do it carefully but as fast as you can okay? Hurry."

He dries his tears and nods "okay mamá"

All sudden Amelia starts to cry and Anthony tries to calm her down. "Shh it's okay baby sister, big brother is here." His hand was holding to her fragile head close to him.

Antonio finally gets the rope cut in half and then I quickly hugged him and grabbed the knife away from him so I can get the this tape off of me. Suddenly the door knob turns and I immediately told the children to get in the corner, I hid behind the wall that lead to the bathroom.

He comes out and when he realizes that I was gone, he quickly grabs his phone to dial and I struck the knife right to his shoulder then to his leg twice. He grabs my legs and wouldn't let me go, I targeted my feet right to his face and kicked him right there.

"Ah!" He cried

"Hurry!" I softly pushed the children to run and carefully carried Amelia with me as I covered her head with a soft blanket. All of us ran out of the room to find a hideout somewhere.

I heard footsteps coming in, from far away I saw Roberto with his guards and I pushed the kids to run as fast as I could. Finally I found a door that was a janitor closet. At this moment.. I knew something had to be done, it was my life against theirs.

I lead the kids to a closet, and we all sat down. I gave Amelia to Antonio, and Anthony sat close to me; he's always been mommy's boy. I wrapped my arms around him and thought about the moments that me and Dom had.

"Hello?" He said and I covered my mouth from not crying anymore.

"Dom.." I held back my tears

"Elena!Where are you? Did he hurt you? Help is in the way and-"

"No Dom! Stop he didn't do anything I just." Tears were let go of my eyes "I just called to tell you that- I love you so much Dom.. the kids they're amazing because of us.. I'm forever grateful." Softly I cried through the words.

"Elena- no.. don't do this, not to us" He angrily said.

"Dom please promise me one thing." I tell him.

"Elena stop!" He shouts

I gripped the phone and I began to sob as my kids watched me, I looked over to the boys with Amelia and see that they'll be a great brother to her. I hope one day Amelia realizes that her brothers will always be by her side no matter what.

"Promise me that you will protect Amelia with everything in your power and the boys too. Teach our boys with everything that you know Dom.. I love you with everything that I've got, now protect the children."

I hanged up on Dom and looked over to my kids.. I kissed each one of them on their foreheads.

"You boys listen to me, Amelia is your only sister okay? Antonio one day when you grow up and take the throne, you will protect this family with with your heart and mind, Anthony, listen to your brother and protect Amelia with him okay? All three of you must protect each other no matter what.. Family comes first."

"Yes Mamá" their eyes looked up to me, Antonio and Anthony had dark brown eyes like their father and before I could see Amelia's I think she will have me and Dom's eyes. Hazel eyes in the light and in the dark brown eyes will appear.

"I love you Amelia." I stroke her beautiful brown hair and kissed her forehead. "Stay here and don't make any noise." I warned them,

Both nodded and suddenly I opened the door and quietly closed the door. I whistled "ROBERTO." I shouted, him and his guard ran after me.

At this point I was cornered, I didn't do anything I just stood there not showing any fear and closed my eyes.

"Go ahead and shoot me." I declared

Dom POV

I finally had help on the way, I climbed up the stairs as quickly I could. My heart was pounding fast and I reloaded my gun to finish Roberto once and for all. The security's caught up with me.

"Check the room I'm going to find my wife and children." I said with demand

"Yes sir." They all ran to the room. Suddenly I heard crying and that crying wasn't any different it was Amelia's. I opened the door and to find Antonio, Anthony and Amelia all three in here hiding.

"Dad!" Antonio hugged me.I took Amelia and softly I hugged and kissed her head.

"Where's your mother?" I looked at them.

"Boss!" The security came out

"what" I said as I rushed over to the room where her and the kids were staying.

"Your wife— she's gone. We can't find her." His words left me without no answers. Right there my world collapsed, hearing to say that she's gone.. I felt like life was impossible.

years have passed since without my wife. The kids weren't not so kids anymore, Antonio started going to his training since he was six. Anthony has been taking parts in my mafia business by helping me out and his brother out with his training. Amelia started going to school and everyday, I always made sure that she was sent with security's on a daily basis.

Everyday I live in fear where Roberto could possibly be out there or his men just spying on my family and I.

My priority right now is to make sure that she's protected at all cost and that her brothers watch every move that she does. It may seem controlling now but later on she will thank me for this kind of protection.
