Prologue
Unseen energy in a horizontal line emerged from the earth. The sky -blue lightning ,expanded in a square instead of traveling towards heaven. The force inside of the square expelled a human from it’s mist. The male became oriented with his new surrounding. The teenager tried to collect himself. Pungent smells from the environment entered his nose. The dampness from the few days of rain, animal scents, and the vegetation filled the air. Gradually he slowly staggered away from the Outfields exit .
Traveling through the portal affected Rain’s body. He hated the painful popping of his eardrums more than the gut wrenching queasiness , which caused convulsions.
The sickness Rain felt as if he endured days of illness rather than experiencing five minutes of it. The popping of his eardrums was the result of air pressure passing through the Eustachian tube in the middle ear.
The popping noise sounds as low as a whisper, and others ranged to being loud like a door slammed in his ears . The two hundred times his ears popped lifted Rain with a lasting severe migraine. The ordeals didn’t prevent him from entering the portal numerous times. Rain entered the portal with always an air of excitement and no despair for his traveling.
Exhaustion from the journey, while battling beasts took its toll on the teen. Rain caught himself before he sank down into the long blade wild grass. The pluses of a migraine attack his head still.
Finding the palms of his hands against the rough bark of a tree, he was assured. In time ,he had thrown his hands forward against the bark. The support of the tree prevented him from dropping onto the ground .
Resonants broke the sporadic silence caressing Rain’s ears in the calm balmy night. The multi hoots of owls in repetition , cries from long beak toucans, and the music of insects traveled through the environment. The howling of wolves, and the loud rustling of trees by screeching monkeys, reverberated through the moonlit night.
Rain bent his head letting his chin touched where his neck ended . His neck hurt some what from the strain. He pressed the edge of his forehead against the tree ,while he extended his butt, legs, and feet away from it. The teen spread his legs and feet slightly apart. Making a triangular gap between the lower body parts with his action.
The teenager’s body endured a great deal during the almost two days , he traverse a certain unchanging part of the Outfields. The extensive Outfields realm led to different places on Earth, and beyond the world. Rain’s body was ridden with pain. The majority of pain were from his encounters and fights with certain ashen Yuma beasts.
Yumas in the Outfields tested his fighting prowess, and fortitude. Monstrous abled beasts, with claws sliding into fingers to make fists , previously struck parts of his body with precision. Rain’s legs and feet felt weighted like stones . An uncomfortable sensation was present more in those limbs, and in his feet ,than any other part on his body.
Rain straining his arms moved his palms along the rough bark . His hands moved up and down the tree without lifting. Rain used the bark for stimulation, to not give into the demands of his body. Heat emitted from the friction of the palm side of his hands, quick movements. The movements of his hands against the bark was painful. Rain endured and continued his effort to stimulate himself.
I have to get myself together. I can’t fail him if he needs me. I have to… The teen cut off his thought as he collected himself. Rain’s head was whirling with contemplations. Thoughts about an ambivalent individual with a blonde crew cut ,captivating emerald eyes , which complimented a handsome alabaster face.
Rain’s thoughts about the harshness of a genius individual’s opulent life. His thoughts, muses of divergent feelings he had for the person. One virtuous standout emotion was embedding itself deeply inside the core of his heart. A heart, until the unbridled emotion appeared was ,ruled, restricted by restraint, and closed off from access. The pure standout feeling amongst many emotions , was transitioning to become complex and magnificent. The awaken burgeoning feeling awaited time’s maturity , and the distant future ,to take full command of Rain’s heart.
The otherwise sharp teen didn’t discover the emotion’s true nature. Evolution of Rain’s pure feeling was like honeysuckle. The distinct taste, smell, and appearance, of a possible unnoticed flower ,grabs at an individual perception. One’s perception arouse emoticons and heighten the senses.
Perception accompanied by the feelings , the peeled cone shaped vine flower evokes. The un bloomed splendid emotion was like a cicada awaiting years to become lively. Maturity of the emotion will astounded him, and force Rain the man to embrace everything the feeling entails. The exhilaration the standout emotion , later bring, will caused Rain the man to reach for the type of love that it represented .
The teenager possessed many attributes and willpower was one of them . At the age of eight Rain brought out the ability within himself out of necessity. He developed ,and now processed a strong will. Stilled, Rain used mental , to achieved a rejuvenated state, that was opposite to the condition of his body. His thoughts had him already running through the Guatemalan forest. The teen moved away from the tree. The tree was a short distance from the exit portal. He began sprinting towards his destination.
One of the portals in Outfields exited into a forest in Guatemala. The exit portals were invisible outside of the Outfields. The outside portal located in Guatemala was hard to discovered.
Rain knew the coordinates of where the Outfields portal was.The teen couldn’t find the location of the outside portal, without having the coordinates. Guatemala was in Central American. Rain had spent two years ,so far ,traveling back and forth through portals in Guatemala. He made a hundred and fifty trip through the portal in the two years.
Rain’s light brown eyes surveyed the environment, as he move forward in the clear moon lit April night. Slight breezes blew clumps of his long , shoulder length dirty, blonde-brown hair into his pleasant average looking face.
Rain’s cloths were no longer in their original state. The cloths were filthy from his extensive fights with the Yuma beasts. The white t shirt and tan shorts were now red. Crimson drops occasionally dripped from his clothes. Like rain the drips dropped onto his arms and legs streaking them. Rain had entered the Outfields with only the clothing and sneakers he wore.
Seventeen year old Rain , courageously fought and killed, at different times six of the five hundred pound bulging muscle beasts. The teen was intelligent, fit and agile. His body had a several telltale signs of the three thousand battles he fought, over the years against men, powerful beings, and strong beasts in the Outfields.
Rain’s victory over the ferocious Yumas didn’t thrill him. The fight with the six Yumas were strenuous and hard won. Exhilaration clutched his being because of something else, and that something else was a someone . Rain had fought and killed the two headed beasts ,that shared a single body, that attacked him.
Rain fought every beast that blocked his path to the Guatemalan portal.
The Barren harsh horrific chilly murky environment was where Rain battled the Yumas. His final fight in the Outfields was less than an hour ago. Men became filled with terror when they entered the dreary place. Dark trees appear to the eyes , like monsters. The charred, and rotted look of the trees were the opposite of their true vitality.
The area in the outfields where the Moa flowers, tall Tempora grass, and Yewi trees, were in abundance, overlapped with the frightful place like clasped flattened hands. The contrasting scenes were like Yen and Yang. The barren environment , where the air clouded exhaled breaths of fearful men.The topography was mingles of black, reds, brown, tan, and gray. The region lack of bright colors , the treacherous parts of it, and fifty pound Karvi clear jelly spiders ,caused the positive emotions of men to decline towards dejection.
