Summary

She wasn't more beautiful than others or smarter, there was nothing better about her, except her strange looks and strong determination, so everyone were at ease for the time being. But... "They were right, I am a monster, I can't control it!" screamed the girl while looking at her hands turning into a blue smoky light. "It's okay just breathe, you won't hurt anyone, it will be okay" a calming voice said while holding her gently in their embrace. "It will all be okay, you will survive, you will learn" calmly said and let go of the White flower.

Chapter I "Beginning"

Once upon a December, a girl was born with bright skin like milk, white hair like silk, and velvet eyes like rubies. It was unusual at that time to have neither eyes nor hair that color, even her skin was unseen, so everyone was scared, as they thought it was a bad luck sign.

Years passed by, and the girl grew up. She wasn't more beautiful than others or smarter, there was nothing better about her, except her strange looks and strong determination, so everyone was at ease for the time.

But who could have thought that on her 16th birthday, she would become a stranger to everyone so easily...

Heavy winds, and screaming eagles, that's how every day started there. The girl already was 15 years old and loved learning new things and exploring, but she was always alone.

Nevertheless her every morning was bright and you would hear a melody coming your way. She had learned to play a flute, and the music she played was so beautiful that even the eagles sometimes seemed to sing along.

But with every new skill she would achieve her other skill would seem to mysteriously get better as well.

People started to talk and gossip as time went on, but no one wanted to be the ones to look deeper into it, so let it be.

But the girl noticed that whenever she went, people would stare at her strangely as if wondering if they should greet her or avoid her. So she started hiding her skills and stopped playing music, singing, painting, writing and even dancing, she would just go by and smile.

At that time, people didn't need the knowledge to earn money, so they would work in fields, knitting or crocheting. Of course, there were more artistic sessions as well, like street dancing. But the girl had to hide her passions, so she would only stand in the corner and watch others happily performing, singing, dancing, or painting.

She once tried to sign up for a festival performance, as it was a competition, but when she was asked, what she could do, all of the scared faces of others started popping up in her head, so she answered "Nothing..." and walked away.

But as her lonely days went, day after day, she would wake up in fear. Nightmares seemed to come every time she closed her eyes.

At day time, out of nowhere, her head would start to hurt and her sight would go blurry. So one day she decided to see a village doctor and ask her for help.
She went to the old house on the side of the river, where lived an old lady known as a doctor for her herbal skills.

As soon as she saw the girl her expression darkened, and she said to the girl "I smell a white flower on you, that's a deadly flower, but it seems it's not coming within you, but it's all around you, just like the flower itself spreads her poisoning smell...as if you were that flower, but that's unheard of...except if..."

The lady stopped without finishing her sentence and looked at the girl.
But the girl wasn't shocked by the lady's words, she only nodded her head.

The lady's expression was full of pity and concern as she asked "Have you been long like this my child?".

This time the girl looked at her scared, she could see in the old lady's eyes, that she knew something more than the girl herself was told by her mother, the girl thought for a bit, and told her everything... from the first time her mother spoke to her about it and the same day she disappeared.

After the story the doctor seemed lost in her thoughts, she looked gloomy and a tear rolled down her chin as she said "You, my child are gifted...or rather I should say cursed, as your talents can as well as help you, can kill you. You probably already know that there have been more people like you, but you should as well know that very little of them could suppress their power, and it destroyed them".

When the girl heard those words she asked her, what should she do, she was scared to let her talents show, because they were surpassing others, and people seemed scared of her. The old lady couldn't say much, she could only advise the girl to seek what she wanted and gave her a bottle of mixture.

That day the girl had many unanswered questions, but she knew it wasn't the time for it, she had to make a decision that would change everything.

So the girl went home, but this time the road seemed unending.

While walking in silence she had many thoughts, but they only gave more questions that couldn't yet be answered "Am I that dangerous, is that why everyone is avoiding me...? But oh, what's the difference... I don't have anyone to lose, no one would stop me, and soon no one will even remember me"

"sniff, sniff" the girl started to cry.

Right now even the forest looked so cozy and warm, the dark colors and emptiness reminded her of her home.

After some time the girl stopped crying and looked up to see a white full moon dancing with the stars.

"Even the one who's said to be the lonely moon, is never alone, so why is it that I'm even more pitiful than you?" said the lonely girl.

It was a beautiful night, you could hear kids laughing while still awake, running in the fields, and their parents happily talking near the fireplace while roasting some chicken.

At that moment, the sight that she saw only made it obvious to her that, that place wasn't her home anymore, but merely memories from before, now making her heart cold.

"I wish there was a place for me as well, so I could happily enjoy this night, but it's enough, I'll be leaving tomorrow" the girl sighed and went to her house, to pack up her stuff, and get ready to leave.

She packed the few clothes that she had, her flute and a necklace left by her mother, and stepped out of the house.

She once more looked at everything from afar and drank a mixture that the old lady gave her. You see that mixture was made from dragon plants and ginger leaves with a little mysterious spices so that the girl would get stronger to start her journey if needed.

"Well goodbye to my hometown and everyone I know, or didn't have a chance of meeting, I hope you will forget my humble existence and live happily from now on," said the girl while slowly walking away and sadly smiling to herself, knowing that this will be the last time she calls that place her home.

Oh, but she never knew that while making such a decision she brought changes to the town as the white flowers started to bloom everywhere around her childhood home, marking it as theirs and erasing all the memories from everyone who dared to go near it or smelled it's poisoning aroma, that way leaving a white flowers curse or a blessing on the town, making it "The forgotten town" from which no one comes back the same.
