Great Dystopian
"I really like how this has a colored-skinned main character because you don't see that often. I also really like that he's a runner or whatever and how the story plays out. If I had to go undercover, I think I'd be dead the first day because I couldn't keep my mouth shut."
Reading all night!
"After reading the first few chapters of this book I immediately bought it. It took me a couple chapters before I was fully into it, but after that it was all smooth reading. I stayed up basically all night, saying I'd stop after the next chapter. Each cliff hangar hooked me and begged for more until I was disappointed to find that both books were done. The characters were realistic and lively and the story had excellent dialogue. All in all it was amazing and everyone should be reading this sci-fi thriller."
Splendid theme
"I really enjoyed the concept of this story and how these ‘Runners’ are willing to fight for their survival in an authoritarian world. I only read the first 5 chapters, but I got the gist of the story and I’m sure I’ll read it till the end! Of course, one shortcoming is that I haven’t read about the country that they live in and whether it’s fictional or not. So it’s a little difficult to relate to these characters as easily. But on the plus side, this gave the story its charm. All the runners are really strange and seem to function on the whims and fancies of society. Very few (if any) seem to be able to think and feel like normal humans, and I liked how you’ve portrayed this theme throughout the story. All in all, a great novel!"
