Doctor for the mafia (book 1)

I spent the last three days inside the hospital, i did shift after shift, and now I'm barely standing. I drag my ass out of the car and to the front door of my apartment, after ten minutes looking for the fucking keys that seems to be disappeared in the black hole that is my purse, i finally find them.

I go to put the key in the lock but i notice the door is unlocked, now I'm pissed, I'm tired, i spent ten minutes looking for the fucking keys and the door is open and now i was probably robbed.

Great, just fucking great.

Silently, i went back to my car and took the gun from under the driver seat, i close the car once again and make my way to the door.

Again.

I should call the police but fuck it to be honest, I'm just hoping that whoever they are, are long gone. I don't have much for them to take, maybe the TV and stuff like that.

I make may way inside, there's droplets of blood on the floor, and in the middle of my living room there's my best friend pacing back and forward, his white shirt stained with blood.

"Andrea, what the fuck?" I said, putting the safety on and tucking the gun in the back of my jeans.

"Ju, thank fuck. I need your help." He said and hugged me.

"What's going on? Are you hurt? Is this your blood?"

"No, it's my brother, he needs your help. I can't go to the hospital, please, you're the only one i trust."

"What happened?"

Andrea and i met when i was in college, i went to a club we kinda that had a one-night stand, and we became best friends. Three years ago he came out as gay, he said he always thought about boys but never acted on it, but he had a taste and since then he doesn't want anything else.

Good for him, as long as he's happy, I'm happy too.

I don't know exactly what he does, i mean i kinda do because he once was so drunk he talked some things. It was just us, something about mafia, i was drunk too so i just remember bits and pieces. But anyway, even if it's true, that wouldn't change a thing because i have my share with the crime life too.

"My brother, Nic was shot, twice." He said.

"Twice? Fuck Andrea, i don't know what i can do, this is not a hospital."

"I know, just please do your best."

He started walking to my bedroom, when i got there, there were two other guys, one sat at the end of the bed, with a towel pressed on his shoulder and the other was next to the guy i guess it's Nic pressing into is stomach and leg.

"Fuck." I shouted.

"Please Ju." Andrea said from my side.

"Alright, go to the bathroom, i need warm water and inside the cabinet there's a hospital bag. I need light in here, get me all the lamps you can find." I ordered.

Two hours later, i was tying the last knot of the suture in Nic's leg. His leg only took me half an hour, the bullet was easy to extract, and it didn't hit any large vessels or any artery. His stomach was a little more complicated, there was a lot of blood, but it didn't hit any organ.

Also, because he lost so much blood, he needed a transfusion and guess what? I was the only one with O- running through my veins, so i had to give him.

It was that or he would die.

"You know he will need after care, right? I can't do anything about that." I said after putting a large bandage on around Nic's leg.

"I know, don't worry about that. Can you check on Vinny?" Andrea asked, pointing to the guy on the end of the bed.

"Alright, let's see, bullet went through and through, i just need to stitch, but i don't have any more morphine, can you handle it?" I asked Vinny.

"Do you have something strong to drink?" He asked and i chuckled.

"Andrea, go to the kitchen, the cabinet over the sink." I said and started cleaning the wound, Andrea came back with a bottle of tequila and gave it to Vinny, he took a few large gulps and nodded for me to start.

He grunted when i started inserting the needle, but, it is what it is. When i finished, i went to my closet and got something to change.

"Alright, I'm going to take a shower. You watch him, when i come back you can sleep and i will watch him during the night, i mean the rest of it, since it's 4am already."

"Thank you, i love you." Andrea said and hugged me tight.

"Yeah, yeah, love you too." I said and went to the bathroom. I took a quick shower and got dressed quickly. I tucked my gun once again in the waistband of my leggings, i know Andrea, but not the other guys.

Better safe than sorry.

I got a chair and sat near the bed, Andrea was sleeping in my bed next to his brother, the other two were in the guest room. I tried, i swear i did try to stay awake but somewhere around 7am at least that was the last time i checked the hours and Nic's vitals i closed my eyes.

Just to wake up with a gun against my head, my eyes shot open and Nic was awake with his gun against my forehead, i was a little shocked at first but soon got to my senses and took his gun from his hand, something i learned, and pointed at him.

"Who the fuck are you?" He asked, well he kinda shouted, and that made Andrea wake up and the other two came running to the bedroom.

"What's going on?" Andrea asked, everything happened so fast, Andrea's eyes widened and Vinny and the other guy pull out their guns and pointed at me, mine was still pointed into Nic's head.

"Wow, wow, everyone put the gun down. Ju, please." Andrea said, getting up.

"Theirs first." I said never breaking eye contact with Nic, waiting for an attack or something, but also because i never have seen eyes like his. They were blue, a beautiful baby blue but that wasn't it, although his face was blank his eyes were full of all kind of emotions and pain. And not just physical pain.

He was intriguing.

Focus Julianna.

"Mario, Vinny." Andrea said, but they didn't move.

"Boss?" Vinny asked. Nic gave a small nod, and they put them away, one or two minutes later i put mine down.

"Andrea, he's fine, i want them out. Now." I said in a demanding voice. This is my fucking house, after all.

"Alright, i will get someone to clean this. Thank you so much, Ju."

"I'll clean everything don't worry, just get them out, we will talk later." I said to him, and he gave me a nod.

He knows me, i don't have any problem with him, but i won't be threatened in my own house when i just did them a favor. I started collecting the towels and started filling the tub with hot water and bleach. Thank fuck i don't use white towels. I put everything with blood in the water and let it soak for a bit.

I went back to the room and the brothers were arguing.

"She's a fucking loose end." Nic said, he looked past Andrea's shoulder and saw me, once again he pulled the gun and pointed at me. If he wants me to be afraid of him or something, he's fucking wrong. I pulled my Glock from my back and raised at him.

"Fuck! Stop with the fucking guns. Julianna, please put it down." He said, he came and stopped in front of me, he gave me a look that said to trust him, reluctantly a lowered my harm.

"Niccolo, put the fucking gun down, if you're going to shoot her you got to shoot me first, she fucking saved you, and helped Vinny. We are going to get out of here, and she will be breathing, you understand me?" Andrea said seriously to his brother, i never saw him so serious. Nic put his gun down and walked slowly until he stopped by my side, his head came closer to my ear so i could hear him.

"If you tell anyone about what happened, i will come back and Andrea won't save you." He said and started walking out.

"You're fucking welcome!" I said sarcastically and heard him scoff.

"I'm sorry Ju, you won't see him again, i will make sure he gets home and gets the meds he needs, then i will be back, and we talk okay?"

"Okay." I gave him a kiss, and he went after his brother.

I spent the rest of the day cleaning and bleaching the house, i had a huge headache and wanted to sleep for the next fucking week, but i only had a day and half until my next shift at the hospital.

Nic didn't get out of my head, he was such an asshole, like what the fuck? I pretty much saved his life! Ungrateful motherfucker!

But i can't lie about the way he made my body react to his body, or his voice. He was sex on legs but with a shitty personality.

Does it make me a creep that i enjoying touching him while i was treating his wound? The bullet hole was right next to his eight pack. A fucking delicious eight pack that i would love to run my tongue on it.
