DEATH OF NEEL GORDON
At a loss to know what should be done I stood with wide eyes and seeing this horrified scene before me . The body of the victim was cut in four strips . Hand , leg , body all divided in four strips !! As if the man's body was cut in length and breadth in four strips . I was called by Mr. N . K . Srivastav of the homicide department . I had heard from him that the doctor who will postmortem it said , at first the victim throttled to death , then the body was divided in four strips . I could not understand that , what was the meaning of such an unnecessary cruelty !
The matter was only known by the ministry . For some days continually I was receiving phone from the officer - in - charge of the department . At last yesterday I reached via Ranchi to Delhi . Mr. Srivastav arranged an appointment with the home secretary for me . At noon I attend that , keeping my luggage in the cloakroom .
-- But sir what can I do in this matter ! The matter is for the hitach exparts !
-- I know Banerjee sir . But how it occurred , surely that you can find out . Above it , the formula of Neel Gordon which has theft , that have to need recover . We have news that research paper are on an unknown matter of the science . So we are giving the charge on you . If the papers fall on any foreign investigation agency , it will be a great danger , do you understand Banerjee sir ?
I stared at with a steadfast look to the home secretary . All at once to recognise the gentleman is hard as a Bengali . His P A by that time had handed me a blue file . Not more hasitate I stood up with the file in my hand . Then Mr. Srivastav escorted me at this cottage of Gurgaon .
After lunch in the time of the rest , I became thrilled to read the report of twenty - five pages in the blue file . There had a strong watching out side of the door of my cottage . Though I was afraid of .
Neel Gordon was an Anglo - Indian scientist . A golden day of the spring in the nineteen ninety - nine , on the way of return from Shimla to Delhi , near Kalka he expired by a car accident . How the accident caused to happen , the police did not able to find out . But in the opinion of the expart it caused to happen by artificial system . It was a wonderful event that , his all belonging obtained but seemed some typed research papers had disappeared !
-- But how it came to know ? It may be some other papers !
The question I asked Mr. Srivastav after knowing about it .
-- Ho , Mr. Gordon's personal secretary in his death bed told us that there was an index page in his coat's left pocket . In which there was a list of papers with Gordon .
-- Hum ! Did you check the index Mr. Srivastav ?
-- Thoroughly . But some three x - marked papers was not found . I asked him myself that what matters was in that papers , before his death . He only said that the papers were on an unknown subject of robotic science ! I was thinking continuously , on which subject the research paper was most probably , after completed the blue file . Again , if that is fall in the hand of other country's spy agency , there is a fear of danger ! What the matter it may be ?
Suddenly a possibility became in my mind and I took up the receiver . After connected to the line , on the other side the voice of the caretaker of the Shimla Guest House listened . After a lot conversation , only a little became to know that , that day three men met with Neel Gordon . Among them one was the young scientist Dr. Neetin Bhat . Strange ! He is in the suspect list of CBI . The reason exactly I don't know . I have to ask Mr. Srivastav .
