Cold and Painful
"The two words described your story quite well. The details you wrote were enough to make readers flinch and shiver. I agree with the other review, though, that the point of view change was confusing."
Feels more like an introduction than a complete narrative.
"There are a lot of stories out there about someone waking up in danger and in a dank and filthy place, but this one has a real sense of visceral details and gruesome imagery. I think it falters a little bit in terms of personality. The captor character is a very indistinct sort of menace and we don't really have a sense of the captive beyond the immediate terror of their surroundings. A touch more personality would make them more vibrant on the page. Also, we should have some sense of clear transition between perspectives, either a chapter break or a segment separator, otherwise we're head-hopping. That breaks tension and jars the readers. Overall a solid piece of dank and claustrophobic horror."
