Optimistic Girl

Part 1 Optimistic Girl

Arnav came back to India from Canada after earning money to start his own company. He was an easy-going guy. He adopts everything easily… Get attached to anyone quickly. It doesn’t mean he trusts everyone. Nope… he won’t…

He likes optimistic people. He believed that being surrounded by optimistic people will keep him energetic. He hates people with negative thoughts. He keeps such persons far away from him.

He was an eligible bachelor who had no one except a few friends. Yes, he has NO ONE because he was an orphan. He doesn’t know anything about his parents. He was brought up in an orphanage. He was sent out of the orphanage when he became nineteen years old. He completed computer engineering in scholarship. He worked part-time for his educational expenses. A software company was his dream. It needs money to start a new company. So, he went to Canada to earn money. At first, he got a job in a small company with decent pay. After six months, he was recruited by a big company with good pay that was four times better than the previous one. That job helped him to earn money and led him to his dream project… OWN SOFTWARE COMPANY.

Here, he was ready to start his own company. But, he was not ready to start a NEW company. He doesn’t want to waste time. So, he decided to buy a small company and was planning to develop it.

As he planned, after a long search, he found a company that was up to his expectation. He started the process by the company. He got to know the company was at a loss. That’s why the old owner of the company wanted to sell it. Arnav didn’t care about it because he believed in himself. He was a self-reliant guy… He believed in him that he could lift up the company. Only one issue confused him... It was about the old staff of the company. Though he decided to buy an old company he could not conclude about the old company’s staff whether he should continue with the old staff or should recruit new staff. No matter how hard he tried, he didn’t get a solution. How much he analyzed the issue, he found advantages and disadvantages equally.

Arnav was in a simple restaurant as he felt hungry. Yes, he goes to the SIMPLE restaurants too. As he knew the value of money, he won’t waste it unwantedly. Ordering the food, he waited, thinking about the staff issue. The food arrived and he started eating.

That’s when he heard a girl laughing from the table behind him. She was talking on the phone it seems.

“Why are you laughing?” her friend on the other side asked.

“is it wrong to laugh or what...?” The girl asked.

“I can’t understand how you could be laughing in the terrible situation” she sounded sad.

“Assure me, my situation will change if I cry or if I’m upset... I will surely try to be sad” the girl said laughing again.

“I heard your company is going to be shutting down.” The girl on the other said asked feeling helpless.

“yes... my company is getting, shutting down…” she said sighing.

“Don’t you feel bad for losing your job...?”

“So what if I lose the job? Won’t I get another one? Is this the only job on the earth or what?” the girl back questioned her friend.

“I always wonder how you turned into an optimistic girl” the friend on the other side said.

“Do I have any other choice?” she questioned.

There was silence on the other side.

“Leave it... we don’t know which is our last day on the Earth... Then, what’s the point to be feeling sad? Just be happy and enjoy life” she smiled.

“What will you do if you lose your job?” her friend asked.

“I will feel bad for my new Boss if I lose the job… Poor him... he will lose a good and loyal employee like me...” she laughed again.

Arnav smiled hearing that. He was impressed by the girl. Something kicked Arnav’s mind. What if someone like this girl is there in the company he bought? Would not he lose the good and optimistic employee of the company? He liked the girl very much.

“Don’t worry, I’m going to apply for a job. I hope I will get one soon” she said.

Arnav turned behind and saw the girl going out. He rushed behind her, settling the bill. He went in front of her and stood, panting hard.

She looked at him with confusion. She was wearing black pants with a white round-neck T-shirt. She looked thin and fair. Though she looked utterly modern she had long hair. She left it open. She looked undoubtedly beautiful.

Arnav removed a small notepad from his shirt pocket and extended it to her who frowned at him.

“Autograph please...” He asked her.

“Autograph...?” she sulked.

“Yes, I liked your approach... you have good and positive thoughts...” He said.

She gazed at him suspiciously.

“Autograph...” Arnav asked. That made her suspect him more.

“Are you trying to know my name?” She asked shrinking her brows.

Arnav was taken aback. He folded his hands.

“Won’t you tell me your name if I ask you?” he asked playfully.

“What do you think of me?” she sneered.

“I think you are an optimistic girl…” he said genuinely.

“Excuse me…” she tried to leave,

“Ok, no problem if you are not interested to tell your name… but don’t think I can’t get to know it”

She glared at him and Arnav smiled.

“Who are you? Why do you want to know my name? Be careful… or else…?” she raised her index finger towards him.

“Or else…? What will you do?” he asked.

She gritted her teeth and was supposed to say something, she saw police constables roaming near the restaurant.

“Help… help…” She shouted. That dragged the police men’s attention. Arnav raised his brows shockingly, seeing the policemen rushing towards them.

“What happened madam?” one of them asked

“He is teasing me…” She said, looking at Arnav.

“Hey, man, what did you do?” a constable asked.

“I just asked for her autograph,” Arnav said.

“Autograph? Are you an actor?” the constable asked the girl.

“No, sir… he asked my autograph to know my name,” the girl said.

“Oh… is this a new trick to know a girl’s name?” another constable asked.

“Take him to the police station and ask him, sir,” She said, gritting her teeth.

“You go, madam… we will take care of him”

She nodded ok and left the place, making Arnav horrified. How dare she…!

Stopping an auto, she got in and left the place.

“Let’s go to the police station…” The constable asked.

“Sir, I’m not that kind of man…” Arnav said.

“Then what kind you are?”

“I just returned from Canada… I was in confusion about starting a new company. I got a solution from that girl’s talk. That’s why I thought to thank her”

“Very good story…”

“This is not a story…”

“What company you are going to start?”

“A software company. I have been bought an old company that was in loss… I wanted to lift it up. The girl had a good attitude. I just thought to recruit her to my company.”

“Which company have you been bought?” one of them asked.

“I bought Macro Software company…”

“Macro Software? Is that really you?” a constable asked with disbelief.

Arnav nodded yes.

“Could you show me something that will make us believe your words?”

Arnav removed his mobile and showed them an email he got from the Macro Software’s old CEO.

“I’m really sorry for the trouble sir. We believed the girl…” the constable said regretting.

“That’s ok… I should not have asked for her autograph instead I would have directly offered her a job I suppose” Arnav said with a mild smile.

“Don’t be so simple sir. People won’t respect the thing that is easily available” the constable said the truth.

“I will keep your words in my mind” Arnav smiled.

“By the way, my son is working in the Macro software only sir. That’s why I knew about it” he said.

“Oh… that’s great”

“Are you going to recruit new employees for your company?”

Arnav nodded no.

“Thank you, sir…”

Arnav nodded ok.

“My son was worried about losing his job…”

“No, I’m going to continue with the old staff. That’s what I concluded from that girl’s talks. Tell your son that he is going to continue his job”

“Thank you. sir”

Arnav smiled and left the place, thinking about the girl. She is not only optimistic but also brave. He supposed.
