"One of the most delightful historical romances I have ever read! More intrigue and deception than even Georgette Heyer could come up with. And a wonderful, satisfying ending. This is the type of book I could read over and over, and still find exciting and enjoyable. I really loved William from the outset, despite what his godmother believed about him. And little Sophia made me howl with laughter at her precociousness. I did pick up one or two minor typos, missing letters or quotation marks, and joined words, but the story itself flowed so dramatically that I was able to ignore them. Indeed, I just wanted to ignore the rest of the world and read and read forever. You are now definitely my favourite author!"

"A thoroughly enjoyable story, set during the Georgian era in England. The major is a delightful character with a dry sense of humour. The antics the family get up to in order to entrap him are wonderful, and create some remarkable twists in the tale. At its heart a love story, but so much more. Very reminiscent of Georgette Heyer's novels. We loved it."
