I Wish It Were A Full Novel!
"Heyla! First, I want to thank the author for sharing this story with us. I enjoyed the ride! Second, I want to note that I write this review as the story stands on April 8, 2022. Many changes could have occurred since this review was made, so I encourage you to give the author a chance and read the story for yourself! So with that out of the way, let's get on to t he review! Plot 5 Stars: The plot is quite strong and solid. We know who Malia is and what she's about. We know what drives her to do what she does. And we know we're in for one great ride! Writing Style 5 Stars: I love the writing style! I was really able to get a feel for Malia as a person, and I really enjoyed that. The word choice and paragraph and sentence structure was excellent. Very little struck me as awkward. Technical Writing 5 stars: The technical aspect of the writing was very good! A lot of care went into editing and polishing this story to make it shine at its best! Overall 5 Stars: All right. So this story has everything I look for: A strong, tight plot, a style that sucks me into the story, good editing, and wonderful character development and world building. I'm invested in the character of Malia. She's not a perfect angel. She has her flaws, her weaknesses, but she also has her strengths and virtues. She's tough, but also has her vulnerabilities that she manages to turn into strengths. I LIKE Malia, and I find myself rooting for her during the story. The supporting characters have me just as captivated. I'm especially interested in Ralph, as he hints at having a very interesting past. I really do enjoy the supporting cast members of this story as much as I enjoy Malia as the main character. The world building is just as good, here. The world feels real and the things that occur make sense enough that I can get a feel for what is and isn't supposed to be. So I can feel along with Malia when things aren't right. I can agree with her that things are off. I can rail along with her as the higher-ups block her at every turn. Nothing feels strange and out of place, here, unless it's meant to be strange and out of place. All in all, this is a really fun story! My only regret is that it's meant to be a short story, a novella at best, which breaks my heart, because I'd love to see this tale expanded as a full novel! But then, I'm greedy that way, always wanting more, more, more!"
Steamy Mystery
"I'm hooked on this story now, I like that it rises above the norm of sexy beast stories but having a real plot and some excellent character development. I'm enjoying Malia as a protagonist so far, she's imperfect and therefore realistic and I like her tough and yet, when it comes to her old lover, at times vulnerable personality, it's a good balance too. I like Fallon too, definitely a fan of tough love, I'm intrigued to find out if she's keeping secrets and if things are really so black and white with her. Great descriptions, I especially enjoyed the description of the cougar and the battle with him, and I like the inclusion of a were-cougar (not sure if that's the right terminology for here) since I don't think I've read about one before and making him an actual monster, it's nice to see were-creatures as the monsters they initially were."
