A.R.M.O.R

“What is going on here?” he asked looking around the living room and the mess I had made while sulking on the sofa.

“Do you think we should find jobs for us?” I asked him yawning.

“We still have groceries for about a month” he said scratching the back of his head.

“We will think again next month then. Where are we?” I asked

“Well... We are ready.” he said and I swiftly got up and followed him down to our basement.

“I updated it a little. I think we will be able to hack A.R.M.O.R now.” he said.

“You did what I said?”

“Mmmhmm. After hacking into their server, we will have about 30-40 seconds till they respond. We can't get all the data in such less time but maybe their recent records.” he explained.

“And our location?” I asked

“It will keep bouncing from country to country.”

“How did you do that?” I was amazed.

“I learnt from our last mistake. Shall we?” he asked and I nodded.

He started typing the codes and I jammed all other devices to prevent our location.

“This is it.. We have now breached the security of Level 1, the data will arrive in 5..4..3..2.. Now!”

Soon the file appeared which won't be the “Classifieds” anymore.

“We just have thirty seconds more”

“I'm trying to get all I can” I said when the file transfer stops in midway.

“Damnit!!”

“We were prepared this time I don't know what happened” he said.

“We can never get them.”

“We broke their defense line, we were able to scratch the surface we got them but.. It wasn't enough” he said.

“We can still see what we got right?”

He opened the file.

“The W.I.R.E combat mission” was written on it with a map which we had no idea was of a place or a plan.

“What is W.I.R.E?” He asked when we heard the doorbell.

“You said you will remove the doorbell because no one visits us. ” I asked confused.

“I was working on this. I was busy”

“Who can it be? This is the first time I'm hearing our doorbell in months.” I whispered.

“Let's welcome our guests then”

He said getting up and picked up the baseball bat next to him and I nodded. We went upstairs and I took a deep breath.

“As soon as I open the door, you smash the face” I said and he nodded.

“Wait. What if he's a good person?” he asked

“You will get it by the way he will be dressed. If he's dressing like us, smash” I said and he nodded.

Here we go.

I opened the door when two men in suits and sunglasses appeared.

“Hello Mam, we need your help. Our servers were recently hacked” one of them said.

“What?” I said and then I felt a sharp pain in my neck and everything went black.

“Arya!!! Arya get up.. Arya!!!”

I heard faint voices but my eyes felt too heavy to open.

“Mathew?” I said, words barely coming out.

“Open your eyes.” he said.

I slowly opened my eyes and the light blurred my vision, after a few seconds I saw Matt.

We were tied to chairs with ropes.

“Where are we?” I asked.

“Where we always wanted to be” he said looking forward and I followed his gaze.

“Holy shit!!” I whispered when I read what was in front of us.

Adverse Reality Management and Operational Responses

“We are at A.R.M.O.R's headquarters?” I whispered.

“Well.. This isn't the only one we have but yeah.. You are in one of those.” we heard the footsteps approaching us.

One was a middle-aged man in a suit and the one who followed him looked young. They were armed.

“If I'm not wrong, you are Agent Luther” I said to the man.

“You are not wrong.” he said smiling and coming towards us.

“What about glasses?” I asked looking at the other man who quickly removed his sunglasses and his sharp eyes met mine.

“You might not want to call him that.” Matt whispered.

“He's Agent Jake” Luther said introducing him and Jake was staring at me as if fighting an impulse to kill me right now.

“Why are we tied? I mean we have nothing to harm you while you both have a Ruger Super GP 100 in your pockets and Glasses even has a knife inside his sock.” I said..

“A knife? Seriously?” Agent Luther whispered to Jake.

“I'm better with those.” Jake replied with eyes still on me.

“You are right but you know... Standard protocol..I wanted to ask you for the stunt you both pulled some time ago.” Luther said smiling.

“You mean hacking into your servers?” Matt said.

“You didn't get anything.” he said.

“We still entered” I said smiling.

“And that's amazing.. Seriously.. You breached our top-class security, though you failed but still.. Why did you do this and who are you working for?” Luther asked.

“We don't work for anyone. We wanted to enter your territory so we did.” I said.

“Sir give me five minutes with them you will get your answers.” Jake said staring at me.

“Give me five minutes on your computers and I'll have all the dirty secrets you are hiding from the world.” I said

“First of all we don't have dirty secrets, we have dirtiest secrets but the security of this world depends on those. And second, why are you interested in our secrets?”

I was about to answer when we heard sirens blowing all over the place.

Some of the agents entered the room and everyone got into action.

“Agent, we are under attack. Our radars have caught unknown incoming.” one of them said.

Matt and I looked at each other in confusion.

“Who is it?” Luther asked.

“W.I.R.E” he said..

Jake pulled out his gun and ran towards us. He pointed his gun at my temple.

“I told you they are spies. First their cyber-attack and now, they reached our headquarters.

Permission to kill them right here sir” Jake said.

“Permission denied. I don't think they are the reason for this attack. Untie them” Luther said and ran out. Jake gave me the last annoying look and ran after him. The agents untied us and Matt came to me.

“What the hell is happening here and why the hell are we here?” He said.

“First we have to keep ourselves safe. I don't know what W.I.R.E is but I can tell that they are dangerous. Come” I said and we ran out. Panic was everywhere and we had no idea what was going on.

“Delta 24B activate the barrier” we heard Luther's command.

Matt held my hand and pulled me.

“What are you doing?” I asked him.

“We are leaving this place” he said.

“But Matt..”

“No Arya. I did everything you wanted but not this. We don't know wtf is this W.I.R.E or how they are dangerous to them. We don't have any link with any of them, it's their fight, let them lead and we will leave right now. Come fast” he said and ran out.

I looked behind at all the chaos going on and then decided to follow him.

“Mathew wait!” I called and ran after him when Jake pulled me towards him.

“Where the hell are you going?” he shouted.

“Away from here. We have no work here” I said and tried to run away when he pulled me back again.

“This is Delta 24B.. SHIELD activate in thirty seconds.” we heard the command.

“Don't be dumb. They are launching a missile attack on us. We will be safe inside this barrier so use your brain and stay here. You can leave after that. Where is the other guy with you?”he said

“Oh my God!” I looked out and he followed my gaze. We both ran outside

“SHIELD activate in 10 seconds”

“Matt come back!!” I shouted when I saw him leaving the HQ. He looked at me and waved me to come to him.

“Idiot!” Jake ran after him.

“Activate in 3.. 2.. Go!” I saw a metallic doom starting to cover the place.

Jake picked him up and ran back.

The place was about to be covered fully when I saw something coming towards us at a fast speed. It was a small missile I guess. Jake was about to enter the compound when it fell near them leading to a small explosion. The SHIELD completely covered us.
