Chapter 1

I sat back and watched her for some time. Wondering if she would notice me at all or if I would have to make the first move. She flipped her golden brown hair over her shoulder and giggled along with her friends while checking out a guy at the bar. My guy. Hunter Ace. I watched as Hunter shot back his glass of whiskey and asked for a refill. Once I had turned my attention back to the girl I was supposed to catch, I noticed she was moving towards Hunter. With a smile I said to myself "great job my sweet you got her attention. She's on the way." I took another sip of my brandy and coke watching them closely, when my view was blocked by a very handsome, very drunk, young man. "Hey there angle, care for a drink?" I showed him my glass that was still partly full and said "maybe next time handsome." With that he turned and left, getting the hint I wasn't interested. When I looked back I saw that Hunter and the target were gone. Damn that boy works fast. I walked out the back door seeing him holding her against the wall, whispering sweet sensational words into her ear. "Damn seems like the party is more out here then it is inside" I said with a evil smile on my face. "Get lost slut this one is mine" the girl said trying to seem threatening. "Actually, darling, I came out here for you." Hunter span her around and pushed her front against the wall,"sorry about this love, but Vicky is right, we came here for you." I took the cuff out of my back pocket and slapped them on her wrist. "Amila Johns you are under arrest for child pornography and for being the accomplices in several underground activities." With that I put her in my car and we drove to the police station. "You will regret this!! My brother will come for you and he will kill everyone you love!!!" She yelled at us from the back seat. "Ya, good luck with that sweetheart, I've already lost everything and everyone I love." I replied to her attempt at scaring me. "You know for a very wanted person you're not very careful. Vicky was watching you all night and you didn't even notice. We also had the place crawling with police and not one of them you noticed. How the hell did you stay out this long?" Hunter said in disbelief. I couldn't help the giggle that escaped my lips. Remembering how I was doing the exact same thing. Living my life and not being caught. "What's so funny?" Hunter asked feeling a little left out. "Oh nothing" I said "it's just funny at how right you are. Cops these days are so lazy and incompetent they don't see whats right in front of them." Internally laughing hard because I know my boss is obsessed over finding Emma Stone, but hasn't once come close to finding her. And by her, I mean me. I looked around as I pulled into the station parking lot. I got out the car and walked around to where Amila sat. As soon as I opened the door she bumped me out the way and tried to run, but I was faster. Grabbing her by her long golden brown ponytail I yanked back throwing her against the car. Pulling her back up harshly and dragged her inside. Amila stood next to me with Hunter holding onto her while I filled out the paperwork. We walked her to the holding cell and had to wait for the rest of the paper work to go through and go to court for her pushment to be delt. I hated doing the 'after a case' paper work. By the time I was done I looked at my watch. 1:30am. No wonder I was tired. Closing up and packing everything away I headed to my car. "I wonder what you would think of me now if you were here dad" I said outloud to myself. My father pasted away a few years back when he tried to save the rest of my family from armed robbers. My mother died shortly after in the hospital along with my 5 year old son. I was broken after that day. Turning to whatever I could to make myself feel alive. I ended up as a mercenary, and this, undercover detective shit, was all part of my latest mission. Killing the head of New Yorks biggest crim organisation, Kistof MaCrow.
