Ember
"Hagan, I will literally come over there and pull you out of that bed." I yell coming to the side of my older brothers bed.
He doesn't move so I open the curtains to reveal a dark, gloomy sky lit with volcanos in the distance and fires all around.
"Hagan Elidi Sol! If you don't wake up right now I will burn a hole right through your back." I exclaim as he continues to snore.
"Ember Seraphina Sol. If you don't shut up and let me sleep I will burn a whole right through your head." Hagan says lifting his head from the pillow.
I glare at him and walk out of the room to my parents.
"Is Hagan awake, Ember?" My father asks drinking from a tea cup.
"No sir, he is still asleep." I say sitting down at the table.
"Well, what are you doing here, go wake him. Now!" My father exclaims setting his tea down.
"Yes, father." I say getting up from my seat.
I walk from the dining area, through the corridors, to my brothers room. I see that he has woken up and he's getting dressed. I walk back to the dining area.
"I assume he is up now that you are back?" My father asks looking up from the paper he is reading.
"Yes sir." I say sitting down at the end of the table.
"Good." My father utters before my mother speaks.
"Ember, we have invited a guest over to speak with you." My mother says as she sets her tea cup down.
"Who?" I ask as a maid brings me a cup of tea.
"His name is--" My mother starts before I cut her off.
"Another boy, mother? That's been eight this month!" I exclaim.
"Ember, first off all do not raise your voice at me, and second you are eighteen and you need to find a suitor before you take the throne, that is the rules if you rule on planet Aries. Has been since your ancestors took the throne." My mother explains with a stern look on her face.
I sit looking at her as she looks at me. Her eyes spark up and her eyes turn bright red. I do the same. We look at each other for what seems like hours but then I crack.
"Fine, I'll do it." I say my eyes turning back to their grey color.
"Perfect." My mother exclaims her eyes turning back to grey as well.
I sit in there with a glare on my face as my brother comes into the room.
"Ah, Hagan, I'm so glad you could grace us with your presences." My father says in a sarcastic tone.
"Hagan, darling, where is your hair brush, your hair looks a mess." My mother says looking at my brother's mess of hair.
"Mother, I will brush it when I have finished breakfast." Hagan says sitting down as a butler brings him a plate of food.
Before the butler can set the plate down my mother shoos him away.
"Mother! What was that for?" Hagan exclaims.
"Oh hush, stand up, both of you let's go, they're here." My mother says as she stands from her seat.
Hagan looks at me confused as my father holds out his arm for my mother. My mother and father walk in front of Hagan and I as all four of us make our way to the front of our castle. Two guards open the doors to the outdoors. My boots crunch under the hardened lava as Hagan and I walk behind our parents to meet who my mother was speaking of.
"You must be Calida, Maccoy, and Cyra." My mother says going up to a older woman and a boy and girl about my and Hagan's age.
"I am and this is Maccoy my son and Cyra my daughter." Calida says pointing to her two children.
Maccoy is dressed in black pants, a maroon shirt, and a leather jacket with boots on. Cyra is dressed in black pants, a red shirt, and leather jacket with black shoes. Maccoy's hair is dark brown and a bit messy while Cyra's hair is blonde and in a braid. Both their eyes a dark yellow.
"It is so lovely to meet you both." My mother exclaims says as she shakes Calida, Maccoy, and Cyra's hand.
"You as well." Calida says as she pulls her hand back.
"These are my two children, Princess Ember and Prince Hagan." My mother says pushing Hagan and I towards Maccoy and Cyra.
"It is lovely to meet you, your majesties." Calida remarks bowing to Hagan and I.
Hagan bows back and I curtsy to her. She looks up at us and then my mother speaks again.
"Calida would you like to come into the castle for a cup of tea while these four meet each other." My mother says.
"Of course, Maccoy and Cyra, behave, do you understand me?" Calida asks her children.
"Of course mother." Maccoy says to his mother before they walk off.
Calida and my parents walk off into the castle and Maccoy and Cyra turn to us. Maccoy puts his hand out to me for me to shake it. I look at his hand and put my hands in my pocket.
"Don't take it personally, she's had to deal with eight of you." Hagan says before putting his hand out for Cyra to shake.
"Eight?" Maccoy asks confused
"Yes, eight." I say before walking away towards the castle.
"Ember!! Come back here!!" Hagan yells to me.
"Nope!" I say stepping up on the castle steps.
Before I know it a wall of fire is blocking my path, throwing me back.
"Hagan! What the hell?!" I say looking back at him with his hands extended in front of him.
"Come on Ember, quit having an attitude." Hagan exclaims as I walk back to him, Cyra, and Maccoy.
"You've only had to deal with four girls, mothers set me up with eight!" I explain as I walk up to him.
"We are not dealing with this here Ember." Hagan says through gritted teeth.
I look at him and turn away towards Maccoy. He puts his hand out again and I shake it.
"It is lovely to meet you Princess Ember, you're even more beautiful in person." Maccoy says bowing again.
"Don't try to flatter yourself Maccoy, I could burn your face off in seconds." I say with a fire in my eyes.
"Ember don't--" Hagan starts but I blast him with fire from my hands before he can finish.
Hagan gets launched back and lands on the hard black gravel.
"God damn it Ember!" Hagan says getting up.
My fire can't hurt him cause he's Aries royal blood. If he wasn't he'd burn to death.
"Shall we Maccoy?" I say turning to him with a fake smile.
"W-We s-shall." Maccoy says sounding nervous.
That's what I do, scare them off. I like to be alone and I don't need a man to help me rule the planet of Aries.
