SYNOPSIS
The tribe of Aelowen originated from the anger and fear of its queen, Elena, my mother. From a tribe, it became a kingdom and was known all around the world for its women warriors. Each woman is given a Word from birth, like Dance, Sing, Heal. These Words gave the women their purpose. Mine is Kill.
I don’t know why I was given that Word. Maybe its because of the constant hatred my mother has for my father, the king of Traeda . My father who now knows the secrets of Aelowen, my father who now knows my mother’s true name -the name of Power , my father who will use it for every advantage it gives.
Aelowen has been in war with my father’s kingdom ever since I was born. And now that King Augustus (my father) knows the kingdoms secrets, we are forced to bow to him. Queen Elena is forced to marry him. Now the women who were warriors and ruthless killers, are nothing more than breeding mares for the men of Traeda. Queen Elena is now despised by her own people and I am left to survive on my own. How can I survive when my own father is my enemy and my people force me to choose sides?
How does one choose between their mother and their Kingdom?
